My biggest fear is sharks but the staff was very reassuring and encouraging. We lucked out and got 2 tiger sharks that we got to swim with. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life!! I recommend to anyone and everyone, even if sharks are your biggest fear too. I will definitely come back and do it again!

This activity was on my 17 year old son's bucket list for our trip to Hawaii. I found a deal on Groupon and booked it. I then questioned my decision making skills, surely an open water snorkel with sharks, listed on Groupon could not be that good. Let me tell you it WAS that good. First, the crew, Stacey and Annika (sp?) were competent, friendly, informative and ON THEIR GAME. We we able to spot a pod of spinner dolphins (safely at a distance to keep their peace) on the way to the diving grounds. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by sharks. We were apparently super lucky as we swam with not one but TWO tiger sharks. The largest tiger shark "Nikki" (sp?) was 15ft-16ft and very inquisitive. She made a lot of passes and some were head on, all skillfully redirected by Annika to ensure our safety. In addition, to the Tiger sharks we also had a Galapagos shark that made the rounds and a lurking barracuda. Several colorful fishes made their way around us too. Pros: fantastic crew, small tour size (no more than 6 to a tour, only 4 on our tour), felt safe Cons: none really. I would say just a little of open water snorkel experience would help you enjoy your time but that's not really a con. Thank you Hawaii Adventure Diving for the great memories.

Tl;dr: Highlight of the trip; no hyperbole; book it now. The people (and the sharks) made the difference. Sammy, Danny, and the boat Captain we call ‘Captain’ were personable, entertaining, and safety-centered. We had multiple galapagos sharks around as soon as we hit the water, but everyone was so chill the kids forgot that they were nervous. Later, we did see a tiger shark, and Sammy and Danny were so on it that my family forgot they were previously worried that they might get eaten. Once out of the water they were already planning their return. I kid you not, these people are top notch. Can’t wait to see the photos. Thanks to Danny, Sammy and Captain for a bucket list item checked off. Did I mention we saw a freakin’ tiger shark???
