Well, what can I say. I grew up on the hill above Waimea and we grew up swimming here and exploring the valley before it became a tourist hot spot. It is my favourite place to go for the Farmers Market, and I love swimming...More

Walk through the botanical gardens to get to the waterfall. Be sure to wear water shoes, because there are A LOT of sharp rocks you have to navigate at the waters edge. We went in November - the water was COLD, but it was fun...More

We enjoyed a beautiful, rainy walk to the falls. However, the insects must have been invisible because we never saw them - but we were covered in bites (mosquitoes, spiders ??) when we got back to our car. (A swollen, itchy mess!) Definitely worth it...More

The walk through the park was really lovely and the falls at the end were even better! We visited after a bit of rain had fallen which apparently makes the water nice and fresh. The admission price struck me as a bit high ($16 per...More

The grounds of the park are beautiful with lots of plants and birds. The falls were easy to reach and the entire park has nice paved walkways with smaller side trails of gravel paths. The website said cultural demonstrations and exhibits, but we didn't see...More

We really enjoyed our visit with our guide. It would be easy to just wander but a guide like Shannon O'Brien from ECO Tours gave us so much interesting information and pointed out so many things you would miss. Must do:)

I think you don't pay for parking and only for the park entrance.

I would love to know if we can rent a tent and camp for 2 weeks in the park? If so what cost is associated? If not are there any parks that provide tent/gear rental on oahu as we would be travelling from canada and would like to pack as light a spossible.
