Was on vacation to Waikiki and wanted to explore the North Shore so I hit the internet to find a tour that paddle boards up a river I had heard of. Immediately I found Sea and Board and scanned through their website for some information. It was obvious this was the place the locals told me about. I called and talked to Steve and was immediately booked for an early morning trip the very next day. Upon arrival my wife and I were greeted along the road by Steve, he was very friendly, honest and easy going, simply a pleasure to be around. We set up the boards and went over the basics of the Stand up Board and got going. Turned out we were the only early morning reservations and were treated to a private lesson and tour. It was a beautiful trip up a quiet river where we saw sea turtles the natural surroundings that were very calming and tranquil. My wife raved about the experience and loved the combination of cardio, tranquility and the great conversation with our guide Steve. I would recommend this trip to anyone who visits Oahu and has even the remote desire to explore. It was a great time and experience.

Thanks Steve for a great memory my wife and I will always share.

MAHALO!

We were in Waikiki trying to book a last minute session for kayaking for our family. The challenge was to accommodate 10 people for the same session; Sea and Board Sports were kind and fast to book a reservation last minute, they send us the information right away for the next morning! When our family showed up next morning they were nice and professional; the six teenagers participating of this adventure love the friendliness and the beautiful experience. They even got to see turtles! If you need professionals helping you with your sea experience, do not hesitate in contacting Sea and Board Sports Hawaii.

Our first day surfing was great! I would highly recommend Sea and Board Sports. Chris was our teacher and we ended up being the only two in our class AND we had the waves to ourselves for about the first HOUR! So tips...

-book an 8am time slot
-noobies: rest your back and shoulders the day before (do not make the mistake I did)
-gentlemen: wear something under your swim trunks or consider bringing a spare

Maybe the last one is just me, but... in the very first minutes that we were out in the water, I sat up on my board and RIP. Ended up mooning the gradually growing crew of surfers out there for the next couple of hours. Through it all, Chris was a great sport and got us both standing on our first time surfing. Although, standing may not have been my best move under the circumstances. I guess it wasn't just us going home with a memorable experience that day.

My family was so excited to experience this. There was my husband and I plus our 4 kids. The drive to the north shore from the Waikiki area was beautiful and the north shore area is so calm and peaceful, way less hustle and bustle from the Honolulu side. The business stand was easy to find in the roadside with a marked tent on the beach. After arriving about 25 mins early we were told to wait for another couple joining our ride. After their arrival we all got a quick and I mean QUICK talk on how to use the paddles to move and turn. That’s it! Mind you this was my family’s first time ever kayaking. We all got into our kayaks and were told to basically follow behind our guides. There was no help, these young men who were the guides didn’t offer much assistance. My husband and 21y/o old daughter couldn’t move just turned circles plus my husband can’t swim so he was terrified to be out there anyways. But the the guides didn’t help much at literally left them in the back to fend for themselves. My 17 y/o son and 13 y/o daughter were in a kayak ahead of me doing well and keeping up. I was with my youngest, my 10 y/o son. We were doing fairly well but I was doing most of the work since his little arms were struggling. I had to ask one of the guides to go back and check on my husband and daughter as they had basically already crossed over to the opposite of from where we started. Unfortunately we never saw any fish! My two teens were able to see a couple turtles from a far but not under their glass bottom kayak. Eventually my husband gave up and turned back to shore because this company wasn’t much help to him. My older daughter was offered by the guide to go in a kayak with him so she could still participate. After the ocean ride next was a river ride. I opted not to go down the River as my arms were tired and my little son was done from all his hard effort. I waved my hands to the guides and let them know that o was going back to shore. One guide followed us while the other plus my daughter, my two teens, and the other couple all headed to the River. They were gone over and hour but seemed to enjoy it upon their return. I wish this company gave better and more thorough instruction. Also more assurance to people who can’t swim. And maybe more help along the way. I would not recommend a glass bottom kayak we were told they are much harder to control than the regular ones and they definitely were. Also since you so no ocean life it’s not worth the extra cost!!

I'm so sorry this wasn't a pleasurable experience for you, this is a physical activity and especially since it was a very windy day that day. Your safety is the most important, We were limited to going into to ocean since the winds were so strong, we couldn't take you out to the reef where all the turtles, and fish are, since you were having trouble navigating the kayaks. However I will share this with our staff, and would like to invite you back at no charge and do the tour with you myself. Please give us a call and we will reschedule you at no cost. But your husband gave them a very generous tip thanking them , and the kids did say it was a very bomb tour. But I will honor a complementary tour with all of when you can make it. Thank you

If you’re looking for a great experience and staff please stop looking! Steve is the best tour guide we’ve ever had. He’s so great with kids as well and his staff made sure we felt our children were in good hands. When you see a smile on everyone’s face you know the day was worth every penny. Honestly it felt like we were hanging out with uncle Steve all day, he’s funny, caring and so laid back we actually became more laid back. We did the 7:00am to 4:00pm tour and I wouldn’t change one thing about it. When we come back to Hawaii again we’re definitely repeating this day! Mahalo nui loa uncle Steve!

First time SUP and the kids had a great time...the river was long enough to entertain and short enough not to overdue it. Great staff, friendly and accommodating. Def recommend these guys if you’re into exploring on your own without the time restrictions group tours have.

A truly amazing and personal experience. My wife and I did this on the Go Oahu Pass and could not be more satisfied. They do a great job of making sure you are comfortable and safe. The care for each person (there was 4 in our group) was just beyond expectation. Great job teaching you the basics for how to surf. Lots of choices but get away from Waikiki and choose Sea and Board Sports. Do the 2 hour and be ready for the next day, YOU WILL BE SORE, but it will be a great feeling.
Also they do photos, $50 a couple, so leave your phones and go pros and just surf.

We did the clear kayak tour with Steve, which was a very unique method for viewing marine life. The clear kayak definitely was not as maneuverable as a regular kayak, but was worth the extra viewing access, especially when passing over the reefs. Unfortunately the winds picked up, and the water got too choppy to snorkel, so we just pivoted and kayaked up a nearby river, which was teaming with turtles. We saw numerous turtles, both sunning on the shore, and swimming in the river. Steve was an awesome tour guide, making sure all the kids stayed engaged. He even brought a young girl onto his paddle board, and had her paddle his board for a while. Steve offers numerous other activities, which I would not hesitate to use him for, but we only did the clear kayak, highly recommend.

Being able to SUP in Hawaii, particularly in Haleiwa, had been my goal for a year and thanks to Steve, the owner of Sea & Board Sports, I was able to achieve that goal. He was our guide for the day and he was so accommodating and patient with our group. We were able to paddle board with a couple of turtles as well. I would definitely recommend Steve and his crew for anyone who wants to experience SUP in Hawaii.
