This picturesque beach at mile marker 20 on the road east of Kaunakakai is a great place to relax all day long. It gets a bit crowded on the weekends/holidays as it's popular with locals and the few tourists who drive all the way out...More

This was the beach recommended on a discussion on a trip advisor regarding the best place to snorkel. I was so diapointed. Most of the coral has been bleached and only few very tiny fish are still here. The beach is very nice and empty.

Yes, you'll need water shoes. And yes, there is only a small patch of sand (especially at high tide). But, it is a delightful swimming beach, and the only swimming beach on the south side of Maui. Hard to find but worth the drive.

Great place to just hang out and take a long stroll up and down the beach. Swimming is good and it is a local family hangout

As far as beaches go it isn't the greatest, but the snorkeling is pretty good. I have seen all kinds of fish here, a massive moray eel, octopus, and some good looking coral. Right off the road at mile marker 20...you can't miss it. Every...More

This beach had a small patch of dry sand, a pocket square of shade and some nice snorkeling. It was quite enjoyable until a largish group showed up, which pretty much trampled whatever serenity was available. It is right at Mile 20.

We went snorkeling at Murphy’s beach on our day trip to Moloka’i. It was very windy and quite big waves. We did not swim far out. We only saw a few fishes. According to locals, it is much nicer on the calm days.

This was a small beach frequented by locals. We enjoyed looking across the strait to Maui's Kapalua area. We've generally looked the other way so this was a fun view. Nice spot to sit and relax with a good book and waves lapping at your...More

This beach was recommended for snorkeling. The beach itself is very nice, but the water was far too shallow. Constantly in threat of hanging up on rocks and coral. There were some nice fish, but hard to enjoy because of the fear of cutting yourself...More
