Named after the Queen who granted the land after witnessing one of the religious ceremonies held in this area. Closeby to the Bailey House, also a part of the land grant.

Reminiscent of early Hawaii when life was more simple. You'll be reminded of beautiful New England Gothic Style architecture when you see her steeple due to the fact it was designed by Rev. Bailey who reined from New England. As a convert to Christianity, Queen Kaahamanu requested a permanent structure of worship be built in her name on this site where worship services were frequent.

Today, it remains a Wailuku Town beauty with worship services still held within her cool stone structure. Located across from the State Building, officials refer to her clocks as, The Town Clock. Visit this grand dame for a glimpse of yesteryear.

Beautiful church. Attended Sunday services here many years ago. Cool on the inside even on hot days because of the thick stone wall. Congregation very friendly to visitors. Revisted to walk the lovely grounds and enjoy the view.

What a very special place that is very Hawaiian. The church was very minimal and the grounds were beautiful. The little cemetery had a gravesite devoted to a unknown Hawaiian which had been found —- such a nice area to go view and reflect.

We planned our visit to include Sunday worship and we were very happy with the service and building. The Hawaiian singing was beautiful.

This is a beautiful old church, although relatively simple in design (i.e. no large stained glass, etc.). Nice to visit if you are in the area, but what makes it truly come alive is the worship of it's people. Still has service at 9 am on Sundays in Hawaiian and English, which is moving and beautiful. Although a small congregation, they will make you feel welcome.

Beautiful historical Hawaiian church with an amazing spreading Monkeypod tree in the front. There is a park on the corner with a picnic table where you can lunch and watch the chickens and chicks chasing around the lawn. If you arrive in the 3rd Thursday of the month at 11 am, bring a lunch an listen to free Hawaiian music! It's called Picnic for Poki and lasts from 11-12:30 Nearby is the Bailey House Museum and Iao Valley.

Christian services in both Hawaiian & English.

BUT

This iconic church is crumbling under the weight of unrepaired termite damage. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by, absorb the century + of history and leave a generous donation.

BTW, I'm not a member of this church, just went to an event there.

While the church itself is worth a visit and is quite beautiful, wife and I found the adjacent cemetery the most interesting part of the visit. Several signs are posted with stories that are pretty neat. Sadly, we weren't there on Sunday but did get to enjoy a Saturday afternoon musical performance under the trees in front of the church.
