This is a great beach. We came on a Tuesday around 10am and still lots of parking in the parking lot. It was windy when we went: the waves were really active so it was great for my 9 and 11 year old to body surf or boogie board. There's a small cove off to the right from the parking lot with lots of trees for shade and a little cove for little ones to swim. Around 3pm, that area was like a turtle highway. First we saw one, then another, then it was like turtle commute time. Around that cove is also a good place to snorkel to see schools of fish. Walk over the cove and on you'll see a ton of turtles feeding on the rocks. We had a great time here. Just be careful if it's windy, the sand will kick up lots but it makes great boogie boarding surf.

Baldwin is a very windy and breezy beach; it is also beautiful and stretches onward almost forever! As you head back from shore there are lots of trees so you can always find a shady spot too. The surf is quite active so it is great for boogie boarding too. The beach is less than a mile from the town of Paia so you know you’ve always got somewhere fun to go before or afterward. While at the beach we went for a long walk to the left (when facing the water), we hear but can not confirm the nude beach may be to the right!

This beach is not far from the airport and harbor for those with short visits. It is a mile long, with swimmable areas at both ends (the seas are rough in the middle). You may well see a sea turtle or two; although there are always a lot more at the surfer beach about 5 miles further down the highway.

We went here on our last day in Maui. The beach looked amazing but it was very windy that day. We ended up walking to the far right where there were trees and it was more sheltered. We hung out here for a few hours before our flight home. It was a nice beach. I would definitely go again and I wish we went discovered it sooner.

We stopped at Baldwin Beach before we headed to the airport to go home. This beach is very breezy but still nice. We walked the beach to enjoy the beautiful blue/green ocean water. We saw a few turtles just hanging out in the water. We plan on going back to the beach to play in the water if we ever return to Maui.

Very pretty beach we found on our drive to Paia. It was quite windy. There are public restrooms no soap near sink. There is a covered pavillion area. Wish we had more time and it wasn't so windy. There was a monitored lifeguard stand. Very busy place we were very lucky to find parking.

As I expected the shelling on Maui beaches is pretty poor- steep shores with high energy shorelines tend to result in broken shells. However, Baldwin beach is an exception. There is a wrack line dominated by broken coral but with shells throughout.

I parked at the main entrance parking area and walked left on the beach. Look for the jetty of rocks, a 10 to 15 minute walk from the lifeguard stand. A fewinutes before you reach the jetty the wrack line begins. Look through it for cowries and cone shells and worm shells. I found 3 very nice cowries and so many cone shells that I quit picking them up. The cone shells were concentrated at the highest portion of the wrack line whereas the cowries were more in the middle.

Happy shelling.

We opted to spend our day at the sandy cove, Baby Beach, to the west of Baldwin Beach Park. This is a sheltered lagoon where kids can enjoy the water without concern for crashing waves. The back side of the beach was protected by sand bluffs and trees, which provided nice shade. If you want avoid the long walk along Baldwin Beach (a lovely walk, but who isn't weighed down with stuff when going to the beach with young kids?), turn off of the Hana Highway at mile marker 5 and turn right at the dead end.

Came here our last day and the beach was amazing. However, too many transient people. Lots of garbage and vehicles parked there that looked like being lived out of. Head up the highway a bit further to Ho’okipa beach and hang out there.

Baldwin Beach is drop-dead beautiful, and only a few minutes from OGG. During my last trip to Maul in September 2019, I landed at OGG in the morning, and had a lot of time before I could check-in to my rental in Lahaina. So I went to Baldwin Beach from around 11am to 1pm. According to the reviews, I was expecting it to be quite windy, but it was absolutely calm and perfect. At the northern end of Baldwin Beach, is a picture-perfect cove that is protected by a reef which makes the water as calm as a bathtub. There are also lots of lovely shade trees at that end of the beach. For those who like waves, you can find those a bit further south on the beach. There is a lifeguard on duty, and a restroom with an outside shower. I had read worrisome reviews that there are shady characters hanging around the parking lots, and that you should be on guard for car break-ins, but I just parked in a spot that was not out-of-the way, and all was fine. My first-day Maui routine from now on will be: land at OGG, get in my rental car, go to north end of Baldwin Beach for a couple hours to get an initial beach fix, and then head to the Flatbread Company in Paia for lunch, just a few minutes from Baldwin beach, for their wonderful pork and pineapple flatbread, and home-made diet soda.
