Snorkeling trips to Lanai and Whale watching in season

Constantly in search of the "Perfect Day" of snorkeling or whale watching, Captain Steve and his crew will stop at nothing to ensure unparalleled service and quality.

Waste no time in discovering the secrets of the reef and playing with dolphins, humpback whales, turtles and rays. There is no telling what we might encounter on any given day. No two trips are alike, and that's probably what keeps the captains and crew so friendly and accommodating. They are as excited about going to work as the guests are about going on a Maui rafting adventure!

Established in 1986.

Captain Steve's Rafting is a true example of the words "owner operated." Since he started his business in 1986, Steve has been insisting on personal service and satisfaction for every guest. As he explains, "I want to make sure everyone who comes with us absolutely loves the experience."

It's hard to find someone more sincerely dedicated to making visitors happy. That's why so many customers keep coming back to Captain Steve's year after year.

A note with regard to the captains and crew: It is widely known that Captain Steve has been the only operator of the family business for the past three decades, but with the advent of his second boat, he obviously cannot be two places at once. He is therefore committed to selecting only people who truly care about the craft of tourism and wish to make a positive impact on the experience of the guests. Thus "going the extra mile" is always sought after when considering a representative of his company.

The Lanai trip with Captain Steve is a great alternative to the catamarans that go to Hulopo'e. With this trip you get multiple snorkeling spots, to places you wouldn't be able to get to on your own. The spots are not at all crowded with other boats, which is very nice. Captain Steve and Lynn were both so nice and... More

We've been on many snorkel tours on four of the Hawaiian islands and in Mexico and we love Captain Steve! We have now done 5 trips with him and Lynn and we always have a great time. We went to a number of fantastic spots around Lanai and the fish, coral, turtles and dolphins were all spectacular! They always find... More

We have gone out with Captain Steve's twice now. Both times were great, but a little different. The snorkeling around Lanai is so nice and with not many people. Both times we were lucky enough to see a few dolphins. The first trip was nice conditions. The water was pretty smooth which made for a smooth ride ( for a... More

Our family of 6 had a great day snorkeling with Micah and Lynn at Captain Steve's. True professionals. They took us to great snorkeling spots. Lunch was yummy too!

Took my second adventure with Captain Steve's craft today. Today was a snorkeling tour of Lanai. We were taken to three different areas and experienced different environments at each. We saw many schools of fish, turtles, dolphins and our Captain Micah dove and brought get up a octopus for the guests to see up close. Both Micah and Lynn provided... More

They do an amazing tour. Personalized and educational. I loved the convenience of leaving from Mala ramp rather than the Lahaina Harbor. Talk about getting up close and personal with the Whales!! I could've hi-5'd them! And the spinner dolphins were a bonus. It was magical and memorable and I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone looking... More

Really enjoyed whale watching on this tour. The guides were awesome and had lots of great information about the whales. We had whales right at the side of our boat. They really gained some respect when they slowed the boat down to pick up garbage floating in the ocean as well from other tours. Nice 20 person tour and also... More

Captain Steve's had been recommended to us by a local surf shop. We wanted a smaller more personal snorkeling trip. There were only 15 people on the boat and we felt like the captain set the entire day just for us. We snorkeled in areas where there were no other boats and the fish were amazing. Throughout the trip we... More

We booked the snorkel trip for our visit. While we only saw 4 whales this trip....the dolphins made up for it. They were playing in the waves, surfing along side us and putting on a great show. Saw many of them jumping and spinning. The crew was great. We had some strong wind and the captain found us a cove... More
