We chose the private half day Lanai tour which begins and ends with the Maui-Lanai ferry, a 45 min ride across the channel. There is little to see on Lanai, a charming small city with an excellent cultural center, secluded beaches. What made our trip was meeting and sharing with Tony our guide born and bred on Lanai. We talked... More

The ferry is a short but great way to visit Lanai. While we stayed on the island for several days, with the ferry schedule it is an easy day trip. While the captains are great, the channel can be rough so as they say – remain seated. When you disembark at Lanai you can easily walk to the nearby Manele... More

We wanted to visit the island of Lanai and decided it would be fun to take the ferry over and back and then take a shuttle up to Lanai City for lunch. The trip over was fun as was the trip back although Expeditions is kind of disorganized in terms of where you line up for boarding, pick up tickets;... More

We wanted to visit the Garden of the Gods in Lanai and the best way to do it is doing their Ferry/rented Jeep combo. Because after you arrive in Lanai, you need to get around somehow and just Lanai City is not like you actually visited Lanai. The ferry ride itself is really comfortable. I really enjoyed sitting on the... More

Fairly quick ride from Lahaina to Lanai at $60 round trip. Book reservations ahead of time as the time we wanted coming back to Maui was fully booked. The Shuttle from the dock to Lanai City is $10 per person each way and the driver we had gave us a lot of information about the island. On our return trip... More

It's an hour ferry ride and when you get to Lanai there's a shuttle to town. Ten dollars a person one way. The town is one square block with a park in the middle. a few restaurants and a town museum. With hot much more to do. Not worth the money to us. The ferry ride was the best part.

We were leaving Lanai and heading to Maui for a few more days. Since the air options were limited, we decided to take the ferry. The cost is $30.00 per person one way. The folks that run the ferry service are great, very friendly and professional. The ferry is good size and on a calm day, probably a fun 45-minute... More

the ferry ride was a little rough on the way back but other than that it was great fun, arranged for a half day tour with expeditions. our guide Bruce met us at the dock. he gave a great tour explaining to us about the history of the island and at the same time about the current going on on... We have taken this ferry from Maui to Lanai several times as visitors. We greatly prefer to take the ferry compared to flying into Honolulu and taking yet another plane to fly to the Lanai airport. The ferry has air conditioned indoor seats or outdoor in the sun or shade seats. Very safe and comfortable and if lucky you get... More

We love going over to Lanai and hanging out on the quiet beach. It is a nice ride, when the weather is good. Today, some people were losing their lunch and it wasn't as bad as it can be! It is expensive, but not as expensive as a tour boat. Please remember these folks working the ferry are not your... More
