"Inexpensive way to do day trip to Lanai"

Our family took the ferry for a day trip to Lanai and enjoyed the views from the top deck on the way over. The return trip at 4:45 pm was a bit rough so we sat inside but the... read more

The ferry ride is an attraction in of itself. The boat provides a comfortable trip, either inside or outside, between the islands. It can get a bit bouncy, when the winds are up; but they cancel runs, if the swells become too formidable. During this time of year, one is very likely to see some whale activity; we did on... More

Very efficiently run and comfortable ride between the islands. Prompt departure and arrival, and you can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Taxi services await when arriving at the Lanai port so you don't have to worry about getting to your final destination on the island.

Great day trip to Lanai via ferry. You can sit up top or below. I did both and preferred to sit up top on my way back and feel the wind in my hair and see the views.

This whale watching trip was a great value. I've gone whale watching many times and I never saw nearly as many whales as I did on this trip. The ride was very smooth and the crew was exceptionally helpful. Unlimited free drinks and light refreshments. Wow!

Ferry was new, clean and travelled very quickly between the two islands. Worth the ticket price. We left Maui at 915 and caught the return ferry at 2. If we were doing it again would plan to return on the 430 ferry. This would allow time to explore Lanai village, catch the 1pm shuttle returning to the ferry and then... More

We went over to Lanai for the day. The ferry was great. Bad experience with parking in Lahaina though. Were told we would get discounted parking at the Wharf Cinema Center parking. A man there at 8:40 am refused to let us park. Directed us to lot behind Paia Fish Market. Had to pay $22. Turns out a scam is... More

Really had a blast taking the ferry to Lanai. The trip is about an hour, and is reasonable. Took the ferry over in the morning. The trip was really smooth. Came back late afternoon, the water was a bit rougher, but the crew did a great job maneuvering the boat to minimize the chop. Best part was seeing a full... More

Our family took the ferry for a day trip to Lanai and enjoyed the views from the top deck on the way over. The return trip at 4:45 pm was a bit rough so we sat inside but the boat/captain handled the crossing well. The crew was very friendly and helpful in telling us what to see on Lanai. Unfortunately... We took the ferry from Lahaina to Lanai and it was only $35 per person. The ride was smooth on the 12:45 pm ferry, but we were told it can be a rough ride on the later afternoon ferry rides. The resort we were staying at made our reservations for the ferry, as they are required, and we were given... More

My wife and I took the ferry over to Lanai for a 4 day stay at the newly renovated Four Seasons on Menele Bay. The ride takes about 45 minutes and it is a fun alternative to flying. When flying from Maui to Lanai you have to go back through Oahu because there is no direct flight on Hawaiian Air,... More
