Let me start with this: Monica is the BEST and SWEETEST person ever. From our first entrance into the store to our goodbyes, Monica always greeted us with a warm smile, genuine wave, and thoughtful service. She has such a servant heart.
TL;DR - do yourself a favor on your trip and go with 808 rides. ☝🏼💯 They also have the best prices we could find in our online research so that’s a definite added plus!!!
In planning our trip, my husband and I really wanted to ride something other than a car throughout our time in Maui. We knew that the next time we came to Maui would be with our young kids and so we wanted to enjoy the things we probably wouldn’t be able to do with them here☺️. We made the reservation for our mopeds & were scheduled to pick them up the morning after we landed at 8am. ☀️We arrived at 8am and were warmly greeted by Monica and Joe. After signing the forms & getting our helmets, we went out to the mopeds.
Long story short, I crashed twice on the moped - 100% my fault. (My husband did great riding it so it had nothing to do with our training.) Needless to say, we didn’t go with the mopeds.
The thing I want to highlight about the whole situation is that Monica was extremely understanding, compassionate and caring. 💕 I got some bad bruising and road rash and she quickly made sure I was okay, got the first aid kit, and was so nurturing amidst me being shaken up. Joe also was very caring and was able to pass along some timely experiential wisdom.
Monica offered us to replace the mopeds with the golf cart. I was hesitant since being scared of getting in/on anything with wheels but it ended up being the coolest and most fun experience ever (obviously my husband drove the whole trip). Driving around in the golf cart (especially with the pouring rain that flooded the streets) made our trip so memorable.
All this to say, this was one of the best and most memorable trips - 808 rides was a great company to work with, and Monica is the best ⭐️

Great deal on e-bike rental at 808rides in Kihei. The bikes were awesome, easy to use, lots of fun and we rode all over town. Super rates on a 24hr rental - we had the bikes all afternoon the first day and all morning the second day, so the value of the experience compared to other activities on the island is excellent! Highly recommended.

My wife and I loved renting through 808 mopeds this past week!!! It was our honey moon; Monica was amazing! Always smiling & witty! My wife recently got her motorcycle license & we wanted to try to rent a large 2 seater scooter; it was going to be our first time riding with each other. Safe to say it want working… though we felt so bad Monica was understanding and reassuring. She let us rent single scooters within a blink of an eye even with us completely switching what we originally had requested to rent for that day. They have a great staff and a great location!

They were very helpful. Made sure my son knew everything about the scooter. Even made sure by taking him to the side and directing him on starting, stopping, locks etc. Then watched him ride to make sure he'd be ok. My son had a great time and talked non-stop about the ride.

Renting e-scooters was a highlight of our family vacation! They are an affordable and fun way to explore the island. The scooters go pretty fast, so please be careful on paths with bikers and walkers... I had an epic wipe-out and wound up with stitches. 😢
The staff at 808 Mopeds was great to work with and I love to see small businesses like this thrive.

My husband, who is an experienced scooter rider, rented a SYM CityCom 300 scooter for 3 days and used it to explore the island. Every day he came back exhilarated and with stories of the beautiful sites he saw while exploring.

Hi there! We rented 3 ebikes for our family on our second day in Maui. It was such an awesome way to get the lay of the land and pop into several beaches, markets, parks. The bikes were excellent, helmets and locks provided. The wonderful owner was so hospitable and explained how to use the bikes so clearly. She was so generous and shared her love of Maui by telling us great spots to visit. I totally recommend this as a great activity for families travelling with young adults. Such a awesome experience! We rented 4 mopeds on 2 different occasions and we can not recommend highly enough. The facility is clean and safe, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful aswell as friendly. The equipment is top notch. Everything is clean, well maintained and of high quality. This is a fantastic way to see the island. 100 stars.

This review is long overdue. My family came across 808 rides while visiting Kihei in August and it is by far the best place to rent your electric scooter, electric bike, moped, or golf kart! Monica treated us like family and was beyond kind and patient with my family when deciding whether we should rent electric bikes, electric scooters, or mopeds. She was amazing and explained how to use the electric bikes and electric scooters. She allowed us to try each to see what we were most comfortable with. She also showed us how to ride a moped and allowed us to practice behind the shop to see if we were comfortable with the weight of the moped and turning. To top it off, three of my family members rented electric scooters and I decided to rent an electric bike, I was unable to keep up with them so I called Monica to ask if I could exchange the rental bike for a rental scooter and she said that wasn’t a problem. The rental process was quick and easy, plus the rental pricing is great! Plus, all their equipment is new!
Monica is amazing and our family will definitely be going back to 808 rides to visit her when we return!

Unfortunately 808 moped rented a moped to a person and that person smashed into my daughters rental car. My insurance company had been calling them for weeks and they are not responding and now I have to pay the 1,000 dollars. Not a good business if they don’t call back when accidents happen.

I apologize for any inconvenience. We try our best to answer phone calls but the island is extremely busy and (like many all over the country right now) are highly understaffed. We unfortunately had to let most calls go directly to voicemail. Now I am a bit confused because my staff is usually very good at passing messages my way especially if it is an insurance issue of any kind. I am a bit confused also because normally items of this magnitude get emailed. I check all emails daily and have not received anything. Can mopeds be delivered and picked up at the Norwegian cruise port?

I don't think they have delivery service. Uber might be your best bet. They do stop taking returns at 4:00 pm. There was parking on a side street less than 200 ft away, so parking is not a huge deal.

Aloha. We are about 40 minutes from the grand wailea! We are in lahaina. We would gladly rent you mopeds but we would also like to make you aware there are closer moped shops in your area. We have boundaries on where our mopeds can and can't go and Wailea is out side of our boundaries. Now you can come up and rent for the day if you like, and explore the west side.
