This was our second time renting scooters from this place. I reserved ahead (thank goodness!!) and the whole process was super easy. The scooters work great and are the best way to take in Maui. The ride up to the blow hole was stunning. I’ll definitely be back!! Thank you 808 Mopeds!

This was quite possibly the highlight of our trip. These things are so much fun. We literally ran them all day, drove all over the island, and used about 3/4 of 1 gallon of gas. The breeze in your face, the places you can fit into, and to park with limited island parking made them a perfect way to see all the sights without having to fight the crowds. The staff at 808 was awesome. They had everything ready, were very helpful in explaining the ropes and best of all, you can return these things even when they are closed to maximize your time.

Renting e-scooters was a highlight of our family vacation! They are an affordable and fun way to explore the island. The scooters go pretty fast, so please be careful on paths with bikers and walkers... I had an epic wipe-out and wound up with stitches. 😢 The staff at 808 Mopeds was great to work with and I love to see small businesses like this thrive.

Gil and Joe were great. They explained everything ahead of time, kept safety in mind (including Covid protocols), and the prices are super reasonable. The different sized scooters were great options for those who might have height challenges (under 5') for younger kids or for shorter folks. Scootering around Maui has been on my bucket list for years. Gil shared a map of mile markers and things to do and see (see my photo of this). We did all of them and I'd do them all again tomorrow. Top 2 Highlights 1. Going all the way north to the blowhole and hiking around (pro-tip: the best pictures are from above the blowhole, not hiking to it) and it's free and a spectacular drive. 2. Going south to Leoda's pies. Worth the trek and the view on the way is unbeatable. The one downside is my scooter was the larger engine and my wife had the smaller one because she is on the shorter side. Smaller scooter, smaller engine. Her scooter just couldn't keep up so I had to pause a couple times and wait; a minor annoyance for both of us. What I Wish I Had Known 1. You'll get dirty, bring some spray sanitizer or wipes for your face. 2. Gloves are not provided. If you work with your hands, you might want to consider bringing gloves. Anything is better than nothing if you go to the ground. 3. Each scooter has a small trunk, enough to hold a light jacket, a water bottle, and some food. 4. Since you don't want to be pulling over every few minutes to see where you are and there's no safe place to put your phone when you're cruising, if you have an Apple Watch, it works really well to punch in your directions and then just glace at your wrist to see the next upcoming turn ("RIGHT in 0.6 mi"). Took me a few hours to figure this out.
