About
Jungle Tours Maui is a private guide, jeep tour company that specializes in the waterfalls and beauty of the Hana Highway. First of all, you don't have to drive all the way on the road to Hana to have a great day. I've been doing this for almost 30 years and I know of hidden hiking trails all over the Hana Highway. Usually, we travel only half way to Hana - and that gives us more time for swimming at secret spots in the bamboo forest. Even the shorter, 100 yard hikes have beautiful waterfalls with no people. Tourists drive by cool stuff all the time. The best part of my eco tour is that it's just us! We move at your pace and if you want to sit and relax at a waterfall - you can! You're also in charge of trail difficulty, because it's your day. The hiking trails along the road to Hana are easy, medium or hard. We drive in a new 4 door jeep that has a soft top convertible. You can just pop up and take pictures from the jeep as we tour the road to Hana. Tour includes lunch and drinks.

Alec is amazing and a kind, helpful, go with your flow, go with your ability guy: gifted at it. He is a very gracious host and a fun companion. Let him take your selfies as he knows the best places and angles. We were a mother/daughter team and Alec made our day wonderful.

I am truly blown away by our recent experience. Our tour guide, Alec, is one of a kind in the best way possible. He literally knows everything about the island and taught us so much! We laughed all day! We hiked through the bamboo forest that’s was breathtaking! I couldn’t believe my eyes at the beauty everywhere around me. We made many stops along the way. Black sand beach and lava rock views were only a few of the stops. The absolute highlight was swimming under the most gorgeous waterfalls. I cannot recommend this tour enough. You will not regret it!

Alec is wonderful! It rained during most of our trip but we still managed to have a fabulous time. He will go out of his way to take the best photos of your group and is so knowledgeable about the history of Hawaii. He was an excellent driver and really knew the lay of the land. He had so much experience. He was even nice enough to stop on the side of the road and pick me a little bouquet of flowers! He also knew the best spots for local food. Overall it was a great experience and my husband and I couldn’t recommend it more!!

I had such a good time! The rocky trails were challenging, but doable. The waterfalls were all worth every step. Bamboo forest is a truly unique experience you will never forget. This tour delivers exactly as described.

Pick up in the hotel was very convenient. Got to see the a lot of waterfalls. And we even got to swim in them. If you are more adventurous you can also do some cliff diving and more swimming take note water is cold. Walked through a bamboo forest/ trail amazing! Got to taste the best banana bread in maui. Then went to see the black beach. Learned a lot because of Alec! And got a lot of good pictures. Definitely worth it!

I booked this tour one morning we were in Maui as a way to see the road to hana and after my husband read the info on the website, discovered we wouldn't make it to some of the stops we relly wanted to see and it was geared more towards hiking and cliff diving... Which he can't participate in due to a neck injury. So I called Alec 20 minutes after my initial booking and he was very "snippy" about me needing to cancel. He assured me he would refund our money since it had only been a short time since I originally booked. However a week passed and still no refund. No return calls and the night before we had planned the tour he sent a text message to "confirm" although I had already canceled. It took me two phone calls, several text messages, three emails and two PayPal requests to get my refund about a whole month after I was promised. And he deducted the 100$ cancelation fee that he assured me on the phone the same day I booked/canceled from my refund. We ended up going with John from Hana 4 Less to do or tour and it was AMAZING and totally worth it. This guy Alec just totally ripped us off and was SO rude in the process.

this was a waste of a day, the promised trip started late, and was a let down. Although a very strange man, alec is nice. But we are still waiting for our promised video. We went to the bamboo "forest" all 100 feet of it. We saw waterfalls..from the road.....it would have been better if we drove our own car. Way overpriced and not worth it.

Alec from Jungle Maui Tours....well where to begin. This private tour was way overpriced as it did not remotely measure up to the advertising. It was touted as a private tour of Lahaina Maui Jungle, waterfalls etc. Our tour guide Alec picked us up at the hotel in his Jeep Wrangler. We drove for about 2 hours without any type of engaging conversation as we drove, no music and all efforts at ''small talk'' pretty much thwarted by Alec. So we had no idea where exactly we were going or what the game plan was other than if ''we feel uncomfortable we do not have to do something...just let him know''. Well we soon went up some hills and the Jeep stopped, we got out and trekked along the rim of some hills where we did snap photos of some waterfalls. Alec filmed this as it was part of the cost to have this DVD sent to us (still never received this DVD even after calling him). Next up was some banana bread for us....it was good. Then we tried to go further up the road, but a tree had prevented us from continuing up the hill, so we parked and took some more snap shots. At this point Alec seemed to have ran out of ideas as to what to do and see (11am). So we stopped again on the road and trekked into the bamboo forest. Took some more photos as Alec recorded a video with him speaking (we thought he was speaking to us, but he was on his own trip). My wife felt uncomfortable crossing a stream so she passed on the stream crossing....good idea. I went on, slipped badly jamming my finger. Snapped more photos of bamboo. Tried to get me to do more barefooting across more slippery rocks to photo me in front of another waterfall...this time I had the sense to pass on this opportunity as the tour guide was safely on land directed this effort. That was basically it as we drove silently back to the hotel. As he dropped us off he asked if we wanted a some money back. Well we thanked him like good idiots figuring we would at least get the DVD as promised in the mail, but it never came. This tour could have been done in my 4 door Civic. There is no need to have a 4 wheel Jeep Wrangler as nowhere did we enter a Jungle. He just stops along the road and we walk into various spots. Not professional, rude and should seek other employment. At least try to engage in some discussion as to where the tour is going, what you will see and do etc. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND RISK INJURY>

This tour is only for sporty and risky people. The tour guide Alec is just rude and nonprofessional. A waste of time and money. And we are still waiting for our DVD
