About
Maui Dragon Fruit Farm is a USDA certified organic farm located in West Maui about five minutes from Lahaina. The main crop at this gorgeous farm is dragon fruit and the main dragon fruit season is July thru November. But they also grow bananas, papayas, pineapples, sugarcane, tropical flowers and more. The grounds and views are spectacular and are available for private events and wedding. Maui Dragon Fruit Farm is open to the public and run tours daily. Their guided walking farm tours are a wonderful way to learn about dragon fruit and the other tropical plants they grow and gain insights on organic farming and sustainability on Maui. If you are looking for something new and exciting, Paradise Eco-Adventures runs daily adventure tours at the Maui Dragon Fruit Farm. These tours include zip lining, rolling in the aquaball and an integrated farm tour. Since zipline and aquaball activity participants only need to be five years old and weigh less than 250 pounds to do our super fun activities, these adventure tours are great for families traveling with younger kids.

- Jo Ellen G3 contributionsGreat Experience! Would do it again!Gaia took us on a tour of the farm. This is off season for the dragon fruit, but there were so many other amazing fruits to try and so much to see. Gaia was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. (We love to grow trees and plants and had so many questions.) She spent over an hour with us showing us around, then sat with us as we ate the wonderful fruit they brought out for us to sample. There were pineapples, mangoes, papaya, and other fruits we'd never tried. It was a delightful afternoon and I would definitely recommend it and go back to it when we're in Maui again.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 19, 2024
- susan s1 contributionMore than just a dragon fruit farm. Highly recommend!Highly recommend the Herbal Tea Tour and Fruit tasting combo tour. Our tour guide was Gia who was very passionate and knowledgeable about the farm and the fruits. She explained the history and details related to the farm. She is 1 of 11 young people who care and help maintain the farm. The farm has a small area for tours where we got to learn about bananas , papayas, dragon fruits, avocados, as well as tea plants and much more. There are other fields not on the tour that they grow on. On this tour, we walked a nice path that took us to the different trees and plants. The tour was very interesting and allowed for questions. I gained facts and tips that were useful for anyone interested in plants We ended the tour with the fruit and tea tasting which was in a lovely seating area outside overlooking the Lahaina area. This was an experience to not miss. I would suggest sun protection during the tour. Anyone that has an interest in plants would enjoy seeing and learning about the plants on this farm. There is opportunity to interact and ask questions as well as just enjoying the tour. There are also unique plants along the tour which were pointed out by Gia. This farm was started by a couple and I had the pleasure of meeting the wife. She was actively involved with the tours and caring of the farm. Maui Dragon Fruit Farm offers a variety of experiences on the farm for groups of all ages. There is something for everyone on this beautiful farm.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 22, 2024
- S PIndianapolis, Indiana18 contributionsWorking organic farmOrganic working farm, not a solely a “tourist attraction.” Not a fancy place because it is a functional farm. We arrived fairly early and were allowed to sit in the shade and enjoy the gorgeous view of the ocean. The tour was informative, especially for us because we know very little about the tropics and foods. The guide was pleasant and seemed to enjoy his work very much. The dragon fruit juice, and the sample fruit plate were tasty and very all good. We ate several things we had not eaten before. Younger children probably wouldn’t have the patience for the tour. Probably more expensive than it should’ve been. We did not do the zip line or aqua ball. Photos and questions were welcome.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 20, 2024

Not much to see there. Don’t waste your money and time. Not the growing season for anything. All the plant we see and learn are all over the island anyway. It’s dragon fruit farm and we didn’t even get to try it. Didn’t learn anything at all! $25 per person was a ripoff and not worth it.

We came here for the zipline and the Aquaball and the tour was an added bonus. We got some great information about the farm and had a wonderful photo opportunity overlooking the ocean below. The zipline is small but since none of us had ever done it before, I figured it was the perfect "starter" zipline and it was. My 13 year old son, my wife and I all did it and really enjoyed it (my 10 year old was still too scared to try it). Then my two sons did the Aquaball and they absolutely had a blast! They rode in it together but also separately and enjoyed it each time. If you go to the farm and it is a warm day, then you really need to include the Aquaball in your plans. They have a great Zipline/Aquaball combo deal so take advantage of it. It very likely will be the highlight of the trip for your children.

Really beautiful farm with fascinating insights into tropical fruit agriculture, and really delightful people telling you about it. The Fruit Box you eat at the end is DELICIOUS -- an absolutely stuffed box (mine had soursop, cherimoya, rambutan, and more). Highly recommend to anyone who wants to taste interesting fruit and learn how they are grown.

We paid $125 for a lame tour and $10 of fruit at the end of the tour. Exotic oranges, pineapple, papaya, rambutan. There was very little fruit grown at the "farm". It was bought from local growers, of course no dragonfruit.
I wouldn't consider this a farm, it's a money making scam.

We had a large group with 4 adults and 8 kids under 13. Our tour guides Sammi and Lucy were sooo incredibly patient with us, accommodating our needs and so knowledgable. Some of the kids (and adults=) were nervous about the zip line and they helped and encouraged us all to take the plunge. This zip line and farm tour is a MUST DO for families with younger children!!!! It was also affordable compared to a lot of other zip line companies.

I booked this tour to follow a whale watching tour and preordered lunch on their website. The tour, while very informative, was a little disappointing. I think the farm needs a bit more work but it did seem like they were trying to make improvements. Dragonfruit was not in season but I knew that in advance. During the tour, I did see some people rolling around in what appeared to be a large, inflatable, human-sized hamster ball. They were having a great time and it was fun to watch them. After the tour, they had fruit samplings for everyone. They seemed to forget my food order (despite me talking to them about it before the tour,) and the food arrived but well after their listed closing time. I asked that the food then be packed to-go and they complied quickly. The food was good. With some TLC, this could be a very nice experience.

My 6 year old son counted the zip line as one of the favorite experiences from our trip— this was great as it was on the smaller / shorter side and was easy if some members of the group do not want to participate. The farm itself is not some large scale producer but gives you a look and some info about many plants and has beautiful views. Very accessible to the Kaanapali area. Would probably recommend most to combine farm tour with zip line or water ball to get the most out of the trip. At the end we enjoyed the fruit samples and coconut water / dragonfruit lemonade.

We were staying just outside Lahaina, so thought to visit this farm instead of travelling across Maui to a pineapple farm. It seemed more convenient and we didn’t want to make it into a day trip. It was easy to book online the day before.
The farm has suffered a couple of fires in the past few years and is in the process of rebuilding. There were still lots of different kinds of fruit to see and learn about. We enjoyed the tour, but it was just sort of a meh experience. Especially for $45USD per person. We did get a fruit tray at the end, which was fun as we got to try new things.
We did not participate in any of the adventure activities, nor did anyone else who was visiting when we did.
We stopped at the canteen to purchase smoothies, but they were pretty much out of everything - I think there was just green tea and lemonade left.
Overall, we left feeling disappointed with our fruit farm tour.

Interesting tour. Our tour guide had a lot of knowledge about the farm and the products they are growing (dragon fruit, pineapple, bananas, papayas), but I got the impression that some of the general information he had was passed down by oral stories from other volunteer farm workers (the farm is an organic farm that is essentially run with volunteer labor of young people from around the country/world) that had a hint of truth, but some general inaccuracies when I looked things up later. That doesn't really detract from the overall experience and we truly did enjoy the tour and the sampling of fruits.

Crystal the owner is a dream to work with! I had my wedding February 20,2020 and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to. She helped me book everything from
Houston my home. I mean everything from catering, dj, bartenders, photographer, flowers, cake, the officiant, I can go on forever. The view is breathtaking, talk about best photo opportunities even the whales could be seen from the lawn I was married on. Don’t forget to ask her for the Dragon Fruit Lemonade they make at their farm to make a signature cocktail for your guests. My guests still rave about how delicious and unique the cool purple cocktail was. 5 stars isn’t enough for how great this venue the owner and her staff are. Best venue Maui has to offer!!! -Ludy (Liberty) Rivera

Yes, you can purchase fruit at our gazebo when we have it. In season(July to November), we have dragon fruit for sale and off season we have strawberry papaya for sale. In June we have pineapple for sale but they go very fast.

No, you do not need to pay for children under five. Children under five are free and can do the guided farm tour or walk along on one of our adventure tours. Our adventure tour activities, zipline and aquaball, require participants to be five or older. Thank you for your question.
