Unprofessional business. Constantly heard the crew mocking each other. Witnessed them leave trash in the water. They do not care about the beautiful environment in Hawaii. When I asked a worker to verify if my sunscreen was reef safe she looked at it for a second before openly admitting that they don’t care about that kind of stuff on the boat. I was appalled. All other boats I’ve gone on in Hawaii go around to make sure the customers sunscreen is safe for the reefs and fish. Will be sharing this terrible experience on my blog. I recommend finding another boat company that actually cares about the environment.

Booked based on past reviews and we were not disappointed. Instead of loading from a beach, we were shuttled to the boat in Zodiacs because the surf was too high to launch from the beach. They did a great job of assisting two 77 year olds in spite of the awkward entry to the Zodiacs. Capt. Pete was personable and gave us a lot of information about his huge catamaran. We asked one of the zodiac drivers if they had to restrict the number of people on the boat and he said they had 46 people and have never had more than 49, even though the legal capacity is over 100. In spite of the white caps on the ocean, the ride was reasonably smooth. The snorkel site was memorable and everyone on board was helpful and courteous. Food and drinks were extra and that pushed the cost up by about 50% but still less than a similar excursion on Kawai that we have taken before. You could save money by bringing your own food and not buying drinks but that is all part of the experience. Service was excellent. All the staff wore masks but social distancing on a boat is impossible.

We first went on the Hula Girl around 10 years ago and have been coming back every year or two ever since usually booking both a dinner cruise and snorkel tour each time we visit. The boat is awesome, the crew always helpful and the food amazing! I love that all the food is ala carte so I can order what I want. It's also great with kids as they have an awesome kids menu and are always willing to do something special to keep everyone happy. I'd highly recommend Hula Girl to anyone staying near Kaanapali.

1st We called from shore to try and confirm pickup area. VERY rude woman answered when we asked "In front of Leilani's". "Is that Whaler's Village". Geez, that's what we were asking. 2nd No masks or self-distancing. 3rd Captain on cellphone for 15 minutes trying to correct wrong personal air tickets while whale was swimming around and UNDER our boat. 4th Multiple guests openly vaping on board. 5th Not a very unprofessional crew.

Went on the Hula Girl for the first time yesterday. The whole experience was top notch. We saw spinner dolphins, humpback whales, and all of the beautiful scenery. I chose to do the optional scuba dive and Patrick, the dive instructor, was amazing and walked us through all of the ins and outs of diving. He took stellar photos of myself and the other divers. He was incredibly patient and informative. The crew, Peter, Inca, and Maily could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding (monchong with coconut carrot sauce) and the chef, Sergio, did an amazing job. I HIGHLY reccomend this experience.
