The piece of land that the present day library stands on is indicated as being "The King's Taro" patch. This is where the staple food, taro, was once grown. It now looks like a lawn but a marker does indicate the area. If you are doing the walking tour of Lahaina, look for the marker or else you will walk right by this.

Nothing much to see here, so you can read the inscriptions or just keep moving along. Unfortunately much of what was here (in Lahaina) is very hard to preserve and much of it lost to the great eraser of time.

A small patch of dirt with a little plaque. It does give a description of why they planted taro, but nothing past that.

small area, part of old cemetery that was back in the days. you have to paid attention or you will miss it when you walk in the street. No charge to see or park.
