The Bay Course opened in 1975 and in that time has hosted over 20 major professional tournaments - the most of any neighbor island course in the state of Hawaii. From the first live prime-time televised event in golf at the 1983 Kapalua International to the Kapalua LPGA classic some 25 years later, The Bay Course has consistently faced the best players in golf and withstood the test of time and technology. The Bay Course is a championship course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Known for its breathtaking 5th hole, the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui, it should certainly be on the "must play" list for any golfer visiting Maui.

At the same price as the plantation course I feel this course doesn't make the cut. Some great holes with ocean views but in general not very interesting and a lot less well maintained than its bigger brother.

I was only in Maui for 2 days but if you are a golfer you must go to Kapalua Golf resort. While most people want to play the Plantation course, I was unable to due to time constraints. I found the Bay Course to be a great alternative. The course was extremely well maintained and was challenging for the intermediate... More

Very well maintained with some incredibly scenic holes (Nos. 4, 5 over the ocean, and 9 in particular). A little pricey but a nice challenge for the 12-20 handicapper. Lower h'caps might find it a little short but when the wind is blowing (and that is usually), it challenges most of us!

We loved our round on the Bay Course. Several of the holes had amazing ocean views, especially #4, the par-3 #5 where you hit OVER the Pacific, and #9. Lots of elevation changes, and lots of sand traps. Easier than the Plantation Course, but still a great round of golf.

1st tee time- watched the sun come up on the prettiest track I've ever played. Pebble, Spyglass, TPC.... They have nothing on Kapalua!!! If you golf... And your in Maui... Buck up and play this course!!! You'll thank me later!!!!

What a great course. We played the Bay course and the plantation course in Kapalua. The plantation is where the PGA plays but the Bay was equally as good. The courses played differently but both were great. The Bay course was in good condition and the greens were rolling great. The course plays hard into the wind and local knowledge... More

Value for money is lower than plantation but is more approachable and easier for higher handicappers but still viable for low handicap. Many unique holes with an ocean carry par 3 and a par 4 with split fairways but it just is lacking compared to the great courses and would choose to play Plantation twice in retrospect.

I recently played this course as a single walk on, played the afternoon "reduced rate" of $155 +$45 for rentals (which were pretty decent Callaways). The course was a very good layout, some interesting seaside holes, excellent conditions, although the greens needed some rolling, but the negative take-away was the silliest, bush league practice facility with whiffle balls. Surely a... More

Started off by not being able to play the plantation course due to it undergoing maintenance and aeration. Kind of had my hopes down to start with but I was impressed thoroughly with the course conditions and difficulty. Driving range is al little weird with the simulated golf balls. Views were great and course had some difficulty to it just... More

This course does have some holes with beautiful views of the water and is well maintained but not as challenging as I would have hoped and a little pricey for what you get, Rental clubs have seen better days and service was just ok. Not worth the hour drive from Walea.
