We booked a private charter out of Mala Ramp for four families, ranging from age 5-13. The boat was very comfortable, enough room for us all. Given the conditions of the day we weren’t able to go to Lanai, but after a search for whales which we saw a couple, we snorkeled at Olawalu and at Mala Turtle Cleaning area...

Water was a bit cold for some of the kids so would recommend a rash guard if kids tend to get cold. The equipment was great. I typically don’t love snorkeling since I find myself spending half the time in the water trying to de-fog the masks, but given the high quality we had no issues and able to enjoy a multitude of turtles, fish and even a bit of wreckage.

They provided local beers and white wine and boxed lunch for everyone.

Captain Brad and Mark were great. Very knowledgeable about the area and would highly recommend.

Everyone on the boat enjoyed it. Even the adults that typically get sea sick!

We were booked on the 1:00 pm tour and they called the day before and asked if we could make the 11 am and I’m glad our time was changed. It was an amazing experience, we saw whales breach, they swam under the boat and came up close and personal. Captain Mark and Brian were great - knowledgeable, friendly and patient with our kids. I really enjoyed the smaller boat experience and it was worth the extra cost compared to other excursions.

While our experience wasn’t typical - the guys knowledge of the area and where to look made this a great experience. Can’t wait to go snorkeling with them later this week.

Had best whale watching experience EVER! We were very lucky that the whales were active and curious about us. They swam under our boat and entertained us with breeches and lots of splashes.

Besides the fact that we were just lucky about number of whales seen, we were impressed with professionalism of crew and comfort of the boat. It is a small boat holding 12 people, but there was comfortable seating for everyone and the captain would position the boat so all could see.

We highly recommend this company.

A perfect finale to a great week on Maui! Thank you, Captain Mark, and divemasters, Nicole and Kevin, for a spectacular day on the water. The SCUBA introduction experience was a fan favorite where Kevin made all the difference for the non-certified divers to feel comfortable and safe in the water and want to go again; and Nicole took us certified but infrequent divers on a really spectacular dive around the Mala pier wreck- turtles galore, reef sharks, an octopus, and so many beautiful fish! Captain Mark is funny, capable and full of great whale (and other) facts!
Mahalo! We will be back!

Chad was awesome. Very knowledgeable. He took us to a snorkel spot that let around Molokini away from the rest of the boats. There were a lot of whales in the area and he did his best to get us close to the whales for a better view. Overall an excellent experience.

We had a wonderful boat trip that consisted of whale/dolphin watching, snorkeling, and scuba diving! A lot was packed into this boat tour and everything was fantastic! We were a couple in the overall group of 10 and both Captain Justin and Divemaster Brian were excellent. Justin was able to navigate the choppy waters extremely well in order for the group to see numerous whales up close, while Brian was able to help divers of all levels with all aspects of scuba diving. My partner is not a certified diver and has had a difficult time with previous scuba diving instructors, but Brian was very friendly, thorough, and made sure everything was safe and comfortable. Additionally, I have a gluten allergy and they were able to provide me with a gluten free lunch (with advanced notice). Lastly, we booked over the phone with Karen and she was very helpful navigating which tour to do, as well as helping us reschedule at the last minute. Thanks to the Blue Water Maui team for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

We were on a whale tour but not sure it was the VIP one.

We were on a boat that they limit to twelve people. Plus we had Captains Chad and Justin.

This is the only group we will go out with. They are very informative and they DO NOT HAVE LOUD MUSIC playing while you are trying to enjoy the sounds around you.

We had an extraordinary experience with about 10 breaches and many other very active whale sightings. I realize the tour company can't guarantee that but it did happen on this tour.

The fact that the boat is not overcrowded makes it easier for everyone to see the whales and be able to get the pictures they want.

Have not compared prices with other companies. This seemed a bit pricey, but if that is what it takes to have a small group, it is worth the difference.

I recently experienced an unforgettable whale charter with Blue Water. The knowledgeable crew made the journey educational and entertaining, ensuring we witnessed breathtaking whale sightings. The vessel was well-maintained, and the staff's passion for marine life added a special touch to the excursion. Overall, a top-notch whale-watching experience that exceeded expectations. Highly recommend for both nature enthusiasts and those seeking a unique adventure.

Amazing morning with Captains Justin and Sam! So. Many. Whales. We had over two hours of fun watching whales jump, spin, and splash then took a quick snorkel at the turtle cleaning station. Amazing experience. Highly recommend.
