Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening...

Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening close-encounters with Dolphins, Whales & Turtles since 1982. We have hosted film crews from National Geographic to BBC Wildlife. Operating within the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, we depart from historic Lahaina Town, Maui. From December through May, Humpback Whale encounters are guaranteed and the crystalline offshore waters frequently provide a passing subsurface eye-to-eye view. Many people are truly touched by their experience amongst these intelligent giants.

Tour sizes are for small group whale encounters, 18 or less on a 24 passenger raft style rescue boat. Great maneuverability and speed get you to some of the closest whale action possible, in the world! To ensure current and competent information, the crew is involved with whale research and highly passionate about the whales.

We invite you to come and see for yourself, one of the last remaining great migrations of the Animal Kingdom. And as always, a portion of each ticket sold supports whale research on Maui. Thank you for helping make a difference.

This tour was on a "raft" with a motor like for an outboard . It seemed a bit small but really it was so much fun. We did see whales mostly from a distance but it was delightful to be out on the ocean enjoying the day. Very knowledgeable staff and they couldn't have been better. There are so many... More

Hannah and Rachel were great, kept lots of information going. Found the best location, saw 3 males and female with calf all in one location. Enjoyed this trip and will definitely use ultimate Whale Watch again!!

We took their two hour trip twice during one week on the small boat. Both trips were incredible! It is a must trip for anyone traveling to Maui during whale season. We saw several whales breaching and slapping their tails, along with many moms and babies. Can't wait to take another trip with them next year!!!

We opted for the small VIP tour. Our leaders were Ben and Sergio and they were both charming and informative. They taught us that the whales in Hawaii come here for two reasons...to breed and to give birth. Those on the breeding end of the cycle make for interesting watching. Females will often have two or more males vying for... More

My family has been fortunate enough to visit Maui on numerous occasions, and have previously only done whale watch tours with Pacific Whale Foundation. What a regret. While PWF has very nice boats with all the creature comforts, and very knowledgeable staff, we had a much better experience with Ultimate. The boats are quite a bit smaller, and although my... More

Ben and Sergio are great. I hope i spell the name right. We sailed out on a lovely day and saw a lot of whales. The boat is fast so that we can approach the whale spot faster than those larger boats. The trip i was on only had 10 people so i would consider it as a VIP trip.... More

We noticed this as they were loading and tagged along. They were happy to accommodate. Hannah and "Funny Guy" Captain, ( I'm sorry, I missed introductions and only know Hannah's name because he kept saying it), were great. We saw many whales, breach, wave and tail flap. I usually get motion sickness on a playground swing, and I didn't have... More

We went on it Thursday and Friday the 13th. Crew was great both days. Whales on Thursday pm were unbelievable lots of breaching. Came under the boat a few times . I like the smaller boat though the larger boat is more comfortable.
