Booking was made via our hotel so was straight forward. Meeting point was on the beach - alongside another group that had booked to do snorkelling. A little confusing at the start as no official member leading the excursions were present. However this was made up once our catamaran arrived.

Once signing a waiver (to say you took responsibility if you jumped ship and was eaten by a whale) boarding was quick.

The Crew were friendly and knowledgeable. Fresh fruit and refreshments were served throughout the two hours on the sea. The professional photographer was friendly and pictures taken were quick and efficient. The end product was worth the $57 to capture the memory of the day - which also includes photos taken on the day of the whales spotted. We lost count of the amount of whales we saw in the day so well worth the trip!

The only constructive criticism we would give is the ‘whale expert’ should consider using an amplified mic. He was providing some fascinating facts and information whilst walking around the boat so at times it was difficult to hear if he was on the other side of the boat.

In summary a trip worth doing and highly recommended!

We were on T4 for the sunset dinner cruise and had a very good time. Getting on and off the boat from the beach was easy, especially for the kids. As soon as we left the beach, Carmen was going around getting everyone whatever they wanted to drink, and she and Joel made an effort to really talk to people. Captain Rich slowed the boat for the spinner dolphins (awesome) and when it was time for the sunset, he turned the boat around a few times so everyone could get a good view and good pictures. I think they did their best with dinner and it was pretty good for the adults. The website said there was a children's menu but there wasn't and one of our kids would not eat the fish and squash. Since there is no price difference for kids, it's a really expensive trip to take them on. Maybe this is because of COVID. In any event, we really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this to anyone else wanting to take a sunset dinner cruise.

I typically do not write reviews, but I had such an enjoyable experience that I felt it necessary to provide credit where credit is due. Captain Chase and his crew Joel and James were nothing short of exceptional, enthusiastic, and professional during my sunset sail excursion on Teralani 3. Captain Chase was very engaging and took the time to explain the islands' history, take song requests, and answer any questions I had. He is very knowledgeable about local marine life, which I found fascinating! The crew was very attentive, regularly checking in if there was anything I needed and taking photos during the "golden hour," which Captain Chase aligned the boat for beautifully. No better way to see a Maui sunset than out on the water! I have never had a more personable experience from a captain and crew before, and Captain Chase, Joel, and James made me feel a part of the Teralani "Ohana" and well looked out for. I highly recommend this charter, I will be going back for a snorkel trip, and I am very much looking forward to it! Thanks again to the fantastic Captain and crew!!

I went on this cruise for my birthday. Ive been on several boat cruises and this 1 was by far the WORST. The only thing good about the cruise was that the staff was friendly.

The food was limited to either dry fish or dark meat chicken, salad with no dressing, dry and unseasoned rice, and vegetables. For dessert they gave us a 2 inch piece of pineapple with a drizzle of chocolate.

The food served was NOT what was advertised. What was advertised was a dinner with multiple meats, sides, bread and an assortment of desserts. I should have taken a picture of my pitiful plate of food they served. I ate 2 bites of my food and threw it away.

They also advertised multiple drink options, but all they served was mai tais & a vodka mixed drink. We had to ask if wine or beer was available which they only had 1 option for wine and 1 option for beer.

There was NO entertainment, no one explaining what we were passing or seeing, & low music playing in the background.

It was dry and boring! I would definitely NOT recommend this boat unless they charge $25-$40 per person for the ride and the 4 drink options only. The food was definitely not worth paying for.

Also dont wear nice shoes to this cruise. They make you take your shoes off before boarding the boat and place them in a tote with everyone else shoes on top. I had designer sandles on and my husband had on new Nike shoes. So we werent too happy about people putting their shoes on top of ours. I wish someone gave me heads up on that prior to us booking.

The dinner cruise started off great & was good until it was time to get off the boat. The boat pulled up to the beach and about 7 others got off the boat as we went down the stairs with my wife right in front of me. She gets down to the very last step and the boat captain all of a sudden pulls the boat very quickly away from the beach causing my wife to fall forward with Nick (one of the crew members) into the water. Our ID's, our debit cards, I-phone all get washed away into the ocean. (Keep in mind we are on our honeymoon and live in Missouri) My wife has a panic attack and is crying hysterical on the beach. The crew brings a cup of water, gets on the boat. Angela (another crew member) says she will see what she can do and call us. I said "well you may want my phone number being her phone is at the bottom of the Pacific." I have her my number and never heard a dam thing. Like.. out of sight out of mind. They got our money so they could care less is how we feel.

It could have been much worse if more people had been on the steps. Something that was entirely their fault, no communication, and bad timing caused this to occur. No concern for us or what had happened.

Based on this I highly recommend finding another sunset cruise where they may care for your safety a bit more and be accountable for their actions.

10 of us booked a morning Whale Watching excursion through Marriott (Ocean Club, Ka’anapali Beach) on 4/6/21. We had 4 parents along with children aged 6-14. Every single person in our party enjoyed themselves immensely. The staff (I believe it was Nico and 2 women, 1 of which is from Louisiana and a trapeze instructor, and I think the trainee was named Cameron) was excellent and very attentive. You couldn’t want for more drinks or juices. They handed out breakfast burritos once we were on our way and fruit plates later. We saw a few whales and 2 yearlings; truly magnificent. A professional photographer was on board taking great photos; I found the package to be reasonable and purchased it. Thank you for an awesome experience, we will book through you again when we return to Maui. Mahalo.

We have done the Teralani whale watching tours for several years so obviously we enjoy them. This year we sailed on Teralani 4, their brand new state of the art catamaran. The crew and the vessel were great but these trips always come down to the whales and they are hard to predict. On this morning the whales were active. We had calves and adults hang around the boat, swim under the boat and we had several breaches within 50 yards of the boat. It was a memorable trip! Teralani departs from Whalers Village on Kaanapali Beach and you will get your legs wet upon loading and departing.

Fantastic sunset dinner cruise with a bonus of whale watching thrown in!
We wanted to do a sunset dinner cruise and there several different companies to choose from. We have never been disappointed with any of the cruises or companies. But, after taking a daytime cruise with Teralani last year, we decided to do their Sunset Dinner Cruise. We were not disappointed. We were signed up for the newest boat the Teralani 5. Great boat and some really nice touches such as individual couples tables and seating around the boat. With the COVID restrictions and concerns they did a spectacular job. The boat was at 50% of capacity and they had everything spotless and sanitized.
We had a great cruise and Heidi, Christian and Captain Spence were incredible hosts. Captain Spence did a fantastic job telling us all about whales while smoothly piloting the boat. Heidi and Christian served up all kinds of drinks and appetizers and then for dinner they served up one of the best chicken dishes I think I’ve ever had. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The side dishes were great and they topped it all off with a great dessert.
We saw lots of whales including a baby whale and the scenery was spectacular.
I highly recommend this cruise, crew and company. You can’t go wrong. They were more than a notch above any of the other cruises we have done.

We did the Premier snorkel and sail package with Teralani leaving from Kaanapali beach and we had a very good experience with them.
The crew were extremely helpful, they even helped one of our non swimmer member by personally taking her out holding a paddle board around the catamaran to watch corals and fish.
After snorkeling they took us to some good whale watching sights where we saw many whales
Overall we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend to use their services,

We did the dinner sunset cruise and it was amazing, we had a great time. I’m a young adult and I went with my parents and we all thought it was great! We struggled to book a sunset cruise because we thought we did in advance but apparently didn’t finalize it so this was a last minute booking which was difficult to do because most companies were full during the time we were here. Luckily we got a spot on this one and it did not disappoint. We loaded on the beach, seems like this is the norm for all of these kind of sunset cruises, and we did get a bit wet up to our knees but it wasn’t a big deal, just wear shorts/a skirt (although watch out for the wind because my dress got blown around quite a bit on the boat). Once we got on, we sailed down south a bit, they served dinner, then came back up and watched the sunset at the end. They brought out drinks pretty much right away which was awesome. The crew was awesome, they were all really friendly and the service was fantastic. Besides the captain there were only two other crew members and they were really on top of everything. For dinner they gave us teriyaki chicken, fish, rice, salad and some pickled vegetables. The fish was a little dry but everything else was great and frankly I didn’t even care that much about the food because the experience was just overall really nice. We got beautiful views of the island and the sunset so we were happy. We also got really lucky and a huge pod of dolphins swam alongside the boat for a while doing spins and whatnot and the captain played the flipper soundtrack lol. The cruise was a blast and I highly recommend it and this company. Regrettably I don’t remember the names of the captain and crew but they were absolutely fantastic so whoever was working on July 18th, you guys were awesome! Definitely recommend this company and this tour, we’ll definitely be doing it again on future trips.
