First we came here for the historic electric bike tour through Lahaina. Bear was great, very personable and insane amount of knowledge of the island's. Since we had so much fun with him we decided to book a few more activities inside with Mike, these guys are so cool, seriously they don't push any of the activities or timeshare crap on you. We were the ones asking questions and let me tell you these guys have the inside scoop, hooked us up with some really cool activities and we will go through them from now on and recommend them to all my friends and family who visit Maui. Thanks for making our trip that much better!

A Giant Mahalo to Boss Frogs, Kimo's Bike's, James and Bear
2 great shops next to each other working in tandem to get you the very best island experience!
I thought the prices on the retail at Boss Frogs was fantastic, no super Island markups here, so if you forgot something or waiting to get it on island this is a great 1 stop spot. I got some slippers 20% off and they are my favorites ever, sun block and sunglasses also well priced but they have so much more plus excellent service.
Kimo's Bike rentals next door outfitted me with an electric Rad Bike for the week, and it was the highlight of my Maui vacation. The Rad bikes are perfect for tooling around town and trips to Kaanapali as well as up to Black Rock and back to launiupoko beach park and neighborhood. The bike was in perfect condition with a great battery, and included a lock and helmet. Kimo's is a serious bike shop with bike rentals of all types including some great road bikes, so dont pack & ship yours, let Kimo's hook your crew up with some excellent bikes and SAG for touring the island.
Both shops blew me away with service, quality, and the famous Aloha Spirit, and will always be my go to island outfitter. I can make no higher recommendation then to make this your shop too.

Let me start by saying the Tour guide, Bear, is excellent. My wife and I had never tried to ride an electric Bike before but after a short Safety introduction and test we had no problem riding the bikes around town - no pedaling required!
Bear took us around to multiple historic sites in Lahaina explaining about the rich history of the area - he is very knowledgeable, funny, easygoing and answered any and every question we had whether it had anything to do with the tour or not.
We would highly recommend this tour when you visit Lahaina!

I would not recommend this company. I booked a snorkeling for 4 people through getyourguide site a month and a half in advance from the day of the event. This company did not get in contact with the third party to say their boat was full with people booking from boss frogs and Only sent me one email that went into my spam mail that said the boat was fully booked. The getyourguide company kept updating me with confirmations all the way to the day of the booking. When I showed up they said it’s full nothing we can do and did not help with accommodating through rebooking or anything to help with inconvenience. Service was poor I would never reccommend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had a frustrating experience with a third party booking system. We are looking into this issue and hope that you will join us again for a snorkeling tour on Maui.

Boss Frogs is great for snorkel equipment and beach chairs. Friendly helpful service would rate higher on that alone (4 or 5 star). Unfortunately we decided to book a tour with them & I would not recommend doing that. (Tour rating 2 star) We wanted a whale watching experience and were sold a 5 hour cruise on the Calipso to whale watch and go to Molokini crater & turtle town. We really wanted to whale watch & were told this was a great tour for whales and as a bonus we would be able to check out snorkeling at Molokini & turtle town. It was quickly apparent on the boat that the focus of the tour was snorkel and snuba... Not whale watching. Snorkeling was only OK, too many people bumping into each other and very few fish. Snorkeling off kaanapali beach is better. The crew was great, the boat was very nice and the food was good. The only whale watching was as we were cruising between snorkel spots. Definately not the tour we were looking for at $110 ea. For 6 it was very disappointing.

We wanted to try a snorkeling trip to the crater, so we signed up for one of the better trips.Don't be fooled by the ads for cheap trips and cheap snorkel equipment rental. You get what you pay for. My wife and I rented a mask and fins for one day and it cost us $25, about five times the listed price in the brochures. The trip to the crater was $245 for two. The crew on the boat were nice and the food was great, but snorkeling was rather poor. They wouldn't let you wander off away from the boat, and we got very little snorkel time before we had to leave to find a less windy site. At the next site, the crew couldn't find the underwater rope to tie our boat to, so we wasted more time and went to yet another site by a rocky shoreline. We got even less time there and fish diversity was rather poor. The only redeeming part of the tour was getting to see a baby humpbacked whale swim right by our boat. Instead of paying big bucks for the tour, I suggest renting equipment for the day and going to Black Rock on the west side and you'll see more fish. And if you want to see whales (albeit from a distance), drive to Lahaina and stop at the pull-off along the highway.

Mahalo for you review. We offer a range of snorkel gear, trips and prices to meet each customer's needs. Our new map highlights great snorkel spots along the coast, another option.

Don't waste your time if you're renting a cruiser style bicycle for more than a week. This company has grown fat on tourists and doesn't care about service. Their philosophy must be, "there's always another cruise ship arriving". To give you an example, if you want to rent a bicycle for 10 days, they offer their weekly rate of $75. and $20 for each subsequent day. When asked why they wouldn't just prorate the rental for the additional days, the manager says their"system" doesn't allow it. To be fair, it's not the shop manager's fault, he's just following orders from the owner. So take your bicycle rental business down the road to West Maui Cycles, who's system has figured out pro rating and rent from someone who actually cares about their customers and is willing to treat them fairly, plus the bikes are newer and better.

Are you kidding me? I booked this weeks ago. Specifically for the Cannery store as we have rented there before. We walk in, are ignored for 5 minutes. Then told that no one in the store can see any reservations. “No problem!”, I say: “Here is my email confirmation” “doesn’t matter” responds Mr. Personality. But he agrees they have plenty of sets and gets the four of us going. Without advising me of the total he asks for my credit card. When I inquire he tells me it’s $115 for what had been an online “deal” for four of us for $21. He goes in to tell us those are the old school masks. No problem! We probably will only use them a few times. Grudgingly, Mr. Personality gets us set with the “old” sets and then presents me with a bill for $45. When I show him my 2 for 1 confirmation for four sets of equipment, he tells me that it’s not really two for one, it’s actually half price. Not really sure how that matters but I say “correct- so if you take 50% off, that’s basically what I reserved and confirmed” “nope. That’s not how it works.” So I tell the disappointed family to put back the couple of hundred dollars worth of T-shirt’s and flip flops and we bail out. No apologies, no request to help. This is just a bait and switch. Don’t use it. Find someone else who has some integrity. My opinion only, but doesn’t pass the smell test and seems like a way to fleece eager tourists

This guided tour of Lahaina on electric bikes to learn the history of Lahaina, Maui and Hawaii. Maui and Lahaina were big parts of Hawaiian history. This tour explained the multiple stage of Hawaiian and Maui history from the beginning of settlement by the polynesian groups that first discovered Hawaii. The kings of Maui lived in Lahaina. Later the sugar cane industry centered there and now Lahaina is a major tourist center. This Tour was fun. The electric bikes are cool and Bear, our guide, was very knowledgeable. He answered every question and guided us with unending patience and good humor. Would do it again.

Boss Frogs at Dolphin Plaza experience was terrible! I went in expecting to find good service with quality selections and was quickly overwhelmed by slow service, incorrectly sized gear, rude exchange engagement (after their mistake) and an overall lack in quality of goods. The defog was not defog at all, it appeared to be nothing but water. Additionally their employees seemed completely disinterested in helping. Prices were advertised as buy 1, get 1 only to find out if you rent weekly “you are already getting the best deal”. The service and atmosphere was atrocious. I would not recommend anyone visit this store in the future. Save yourself a trip and go to Aunties Snorkle…. TRUST ME!

We are so sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than wonderful. Your concerns will be shared with our HR department as typically we receive glowing reviews regarding our customer service. We can assure you that the snorkel equipment and supplies that we carry are great quality and hope you enjoyed the remainder of your vacation on Maui.
