Though I live on the mainland I have had the opportunity to spend a few days at a time with the Kupa'a farm and farmers over the past few years, and cannot say enough positive things about the experience. Janet, Gerry, Judy, and their farm hands have built a beautiful farm that produces an incredible variety of organic fruits, vegetables, and coffee (I've seen Gerry pick a single coffee cherry out of a basket of freshly picked cherries because it wasn't perfectly ripe...not kidding) Their day to day practices are built on a meticulous attention to detail, solid stewardship of the land, a positive regard for mankind, and a consistent community involvement through their weekly CSA program and weekly collection of food waste from many island restaurants. The foods that come from their rich soil are delicious. Because I have a bit of a sweet tooth, my favorite food from their farm is their all natural Lilikoi jam, which lists "Love" as one of its 4 ingredients. If you can schedule a tour of the farm I would highly recommend it. Time spent there will be a unique and rewarding experience. If you are not able to book a tour, I recommend finding their table at a farmers market. The last time I checked, their current market schedule and location was posted on their web site.…
