We've visited this garden in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately now it looks like it has been neglected. It has so much potential and has been lovely, but it seemed to need water, and general upkeeping. We sincerely hope this improves. The orchids were pretty and there were some flowers. We had my dad with us in a... More

This is a large hillside property with an impressive assortment of plants, but as other reviewers posted, pathways are poorly maintained (i.e. Not even recently swept up), many plants look to be overgrown, things haven't been weeded or dead headed. I felt like things were past their prime. Additionally, the aviary and koi ponds were borderline depressing. I felt badly... More

It's a $10 per head walk through, and it could have been gorgeous, but it really needed some weeding and trimming sweeping and deadheading. However, there are some spectacular examples of Australian, South African, Indian and Southeast Asian plants that are very rare.

We visited here on our way down the mountain from sunrise on Haleakala on a bright morning. The walk among the birds and flowers is charming, with plenty of variety in the modest-sized collection. Very enjoyable. We appreciated the gift shop, which had several good photos. We bought a t-shirt and a place mat to remind us of the day.... More

The plants looked like they needed to be watered. The paths could use some cleaning up. The poor Koi fish hardly had enough water in the pond to cover them!! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Loved our visit to the Kula Botanical Gardens. We were greeted warmly and provided with a map of the pathways through the gardens. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. There were hydrangeas, orchids, azaleas, proteas, bromaliads, ferns, a waterfall and even a macadama nut tree with elkhorns from Australia. All the plants and trees were labelled with their... More

What a nice place, it was too bad more plants weren't in bloom. But we did get to see a wedding! Maybe bring a light sweater. Did get to see some different plants and trees!

We went Here as a Side trip after our Haleakala Sunrise visit not to far out of the way and certainly worth going to. The gardens are wonderful and there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the scenery and listen to the birds sing. The Koi pond was my favorite area.

This place is so beautiful! Tropical plants, koi, birds, waterfalls, wood carvings and look for the mosaics in the concrete paths, a pleasant stroll, or sit on a bench.
