About Aloha Outdoors Boat Rentals
If your looking to Rent a Boat on Maui, be the Captain and explore without waiting in long lines, you've come to the right place. Aloha Outdoors Boat Rentals powered by SeaEscape is the only bare boat rental operation on the island of Maui. We operate out of the Kihei Boat Ramp which is on the border of Wailea and Kihei, only a 20 minute drive to the world renown Molokini Caldera Crater. We utilize 3 late model Glacier Bay 2240SX Renegade open bow boats equipped with 2 Yamaha 115hp 4 stroke motors. Plenty of power and redundancy to keep your party safe and happy. We've been boating here all our lives so we know the weather and area very well and will give you a very thorough orientation prior to departure so you will be ready to take in all the sites and come back safely. We are a sustainable company that contributes to our partner non-profit, BecomeCircular.org. As community leaders, we adhere to a "be pono" policy and we always live with aloha. Please give us a try!!

What a way to see Molokini and whales! Nice boat, ran smoothly, comfortable size for 6 people or so, has a large canopy for shade. With 2.5 hr rental we did a leisurely snorkel at Molokini (had the place to ourselves) and then motored around to chase dozens of whales. Spectacular. Chris was responsive and easy to work with.

Good service, prompt responses and they treated us well. However, the boat we rented was a little tired, the tach showed 4100 hours on the engines. We lost the starboard motor when the starter failed, about an hour into our rental. It is boating and things happen, I understand. We managed to crawl back to the harbor on one engine without problem. They did the right thing and offered a discount for us, given the troubles. I would give it another shot.

If you are comfortable handling a boat, private boat rental from this company is the #1 thing I would recommend for a trip to Maui. Hands down the best experience we’ve had here. The guy was great and we were able to get away from the crowds for a bit and snorkel, see whales (we saw a number of these - they were all over between the launch point and the crater! Which did mean we had to idle for quite awhile until they passed but 100% worth the time), etc. Highly recommend!

This is our 4th time (or maybe 5th) renting from Maui Boating. The process of reserving, confirming and picking up the boat was a breeze. Chris was fantastic to work with and very courteous and professional as we met him at the launch ramp (he was early!) The boat ran great and gave us our ability to run our own personal whale watching tour for hours. We started out in Maalea Harbor but then headed more towards west Maui as well. We were able to drive around and see more whales than we could have hoped for. We were not crowded with 40 other people on the boat or 5 other boats crowding us. We just drove to see whales and stopped, turned off the motors and watched when they were nearby. One time we stopped we were even able to just listen to them sing underwater. Truly a remarkable experience.

I see the one star reviews below, and this was certainly not our experience. Departure: The boat showed up early. Our first concern was no available parking in the lot, but we called and were informed about the dirt lot to the north. Parking was plenty there. Bathrooms in the lot were clean enough and stocked. Chris, the owner, gave us a great rundown of how to operate the boat, and after watching the video, we had no questions. We felt prepared to leave. At sea. We went straight to Molokini and had no problem finding a buoy on the GPS provided in the boat. We hooked up, and had the best times of our lives!!!! There's plenty of room on the boat when you have six passengers, so bring all you need and want for the day. The boat was very comfortable, easy to operate, and clean. We had to call Chris with an engine problem when we left Molokini. One of the engines would start, but die right away. But two minutes later, with his help, the engine was running again no problem. It just needed to lower and raise a couple times to get the fuel line right. It's great that you have cell service no matter where you are in the boating zone. Return. The water definitely gets choppy by early afternoon, so you don't want to be out much beyond 2:30pm. We hung around a beach just south of the dock and called Chris at 2pm. At 2:25 pm, we were just outside the boat ramp lagoon, and saw Chris pull in. We then went in, and it was easy-squeezy from there. We only used 22 gallons of fuel, and we were stopped at Molokini for 2.5 hours. The money was worth the trip. When we come back, this will be another activity for our group. All six of us who chipped in for this felt like this was our best activity yet.
