A local diver recommended ProDivers, and I highly recommend Capt. Keone and his team. We met at the Kihei Boat Launch at 6:15am for our two-tank boat dive. In addition to Keone, we had three dive guides for twelve divers. They set up the equipment, which was in excellent shape. Morgan was my guide, and he was personable and experienced. Prior to each dive, we got a helpful review of the site and possible marine life we'd see. Our first dive was the deeper dive at Molokini, we started at one edge of the crater, and drifted along the back wall at 60-70'. Stunning! Our second dive was at Wailea Point reef; we went to about 45-50' and saw a manta ray, white-tipped reef sharks and several turtles among other marine life. Between and after dives we were invited to enjoy tasty snacks and assorted (non-alcoholic) beverages. I hope to dive with ProDivers again!

I did my open water certification with Prodiver Maui on this trip. Brandon was my instructor, and he did a great job of making sure I knew what I needed to know and felt comfortable. Everyone else was already certified. The dive was a drift dive and it was expertly guided. They worked with groups that had various levels of experience. It's about the dive, not the cruise. But, it is a. very nice boat and a nice variety of snacks and drinks were provided.

We had a great experience with Pro Diver Maui that I booked one week in advance. Although I used to dive quite a bit, and spent a summer doing research dives in college, I had not been out in several years. I booked a refresher dive which was just myself with the instructor who met me at Makena Landing at 12:30 ($130 for a 90 minute session including review time on shore and the dive with all the gear). We spent 15 minutes on shore going through the gear set up, safety, and hand signals. As I was out solo with the instructor we were able to customize the dive to my pace and interest. I had thought it would likely just be a quick skills clinic—the last time I did a refresher with another company we did the whole session at the dock in 15’ of water—but with Pro Diver we had an opportunity to enjoy the full Five Caves Dive as a shore dive. The instructor gave me an overview of the features—the Five Caves, each with their own attributes—which were a lot of fun and great for practicing buoyancy control. Visibility was good and we saw plenty of marine life. After the session I had the full confidence to go out on the boat to the Molokini Back Wall. Three days later I did the Molokini two-tank dive with my wife and teenage kids joining for snorkeling. We met the boat at Kihei Boat Landing at 6:15 in the morning and were on the water relatively quickly (we were the first boat out and conditions were beautiful). We had 12 guests, Captain Keone, two dive masters, and a deck hand. Our gear was all set up for us at our pre-assigned station on the boat. I had rented a regulator, BC, wetsuit, and weights. Most everyone had a dive computer but I had analog gauges (which I have used for 30 years and kind of prefer). Everything was functional and in good condition. We had a group of 5 divers and started on the inside edge of the Molokini Crater, crossing a bed of garden eels, and then followed the drift around the backside counter clockwise at a depth of 50-60’. It is an incredible dive with amazing visibility and lots of great marine life in all the pockets along the wall (formed by a few decades of military target practice). I saw a lobster, shrimp, blue dragon nudibranchs (several of them), and all sorts of fish including the invasive, but lovely, peacock grouper. Our divemaster did a good job keeping the group together and the dive was accommodating for individuals like myself who were joining solo. We also had a couple photographers along who would pause to take shots of the marine life we saw. In addition to our group, an instructor had a group of 3 for an open water check out dive. My wife and kids reported the snorkeling at Molokini (on the inside edge) was good but a little short with only about 20 minutes in the water. They were allowed in on their own (self guided) after all the divers had gone under and then had to come back to the boat in time for the boat to pick up the divers on the drift (maybe snorkelers could get in first while divers get their gear arranged?). Overall it worked well for a family with some in the party diving and others snorkeling but we would like to go back for a dedicated family snorkeling trip. Our second dive was just offshore at Wailea Point. That dive ranged from 30-40’ and included exploring the area around the boat that stayed anchored in one spot. Our divemaster took us to a couple of cool outcrops that were just filled with life: shrimp, an eel, frogfish, and lots of other fish. The longer we sat and watched, the more life appeared. It was fun to have some time to just enjoy one spot for longer than you usually get on a guided dive trip. We then had an opportunity to cruise over the reef. My wife and kids enjoyed good snorkeling and had a bit more time than they did at Molokini; they were excited to see a couple turtles. Overall I highly recommend Pro Diver; they were serious when it mattered on issues of safety but plenty of fun and made sure everyone had a good time and enjoyed their dive. They supplied coffee, water, fruit drinks, fresh pineapple, and some granola bars. They did a decent job of accommodating a mixed party of divers and experienced snorkelers (I would not recommend for inexperienced snorkelers) but the focus was clearly on the divers which is what one would expect.

If you are looking for a professional yet fun diving operation then search no more. Prodiver 2 made sure my dives were great, they even stopped in the middle between our 2 dives to snorkel with dolphins. The are very chill and friendly but make sure you get to see as much as you can underwater. From turtles to sharks you name it. Thank you for an amazing time. Aloha.

We had an incredible experience with Prodiver Maui! They had everything ready for us on the boat when we arrived and were very knowledgeable, fun, and hilarious. We dived the Molokini back wall and saw four Grey Reef Sharks along with a lot of other awesome wildlife. Then we dove near Turtle Town. They kept everything moving so we were off the boat by 10:30 am (the boat left around 6:45 am). We tried diving the Cathedrals with Maui Diving Scuba Center the following day, however, they cancelled our dive 12 hours before and had HORRIBLE customer service. I highly suggest diving with Prodiver and avoiding Maui Diving at all costs.
