The course is in great shape! I bought a Players Pass last October and it was a great deal for the money. I highly recommend playing this course. I also recommend if your're a serious golfer you should go early to avoid any sauntering foursomes that want to "get their moneys worth"! The staff is excellent! I especially like the starter that is a local and loves his rock'n roll music. His demeanor is fun and he knows how to make your experience memorable!

The course is in very good shape, as well as the golf carts. Interesting design and some challenging but fair greens. Could space groups out a bit more. Started on the back nine and took 60 minutes for two of us, while the front nine took over two hours. We played in the morning and the locals tell us that it can be quite breezy in the afternoons.

Thank you Maui Nui Golf Club! You made my husband so happy. He golfed here twice and practiced at the driving range 3 or 4 more times. He didn’t think he’d be able to afford playing golf on Maui. Your staff is the BEST! Everyone was so nice. Your course is lovely and well cared for. The snack cart lady was so sweet. The Ne Ne on the course were beautiful. I was so relieved when neither my husband nor son hit any with a golf ball. Thank you, Thank you!

Can tell this normally wonderful course has suffered from the pandemic and lack of rain. Still a fun round. Only real negative was the couple they paired us with. They seemed very upset to be paired with us and basically gave us the cold shoulder the whole round. If they said 30 words through all 18 holes, that would be an exaggeration. Every where we have played, people were friendly. Not this couple. Just made it a long day and uncomfortable.

We loved the Kahili course but it has closed so we tried Maui Nui this visit. It’s good cheap golf and we will definitely return. Not a difficult course so good for average golfers and kids. Young man in pro shop was enthusiastic and welcoming. Greens had recently been sanded so we should have been informed of that in advance. All around, a bargain on Maui and a good municipal course kept in good shape. Not much water trouble but bring some water balls because hits out of bounds will be impossible to find ball. We played around 2 pm and mostly had the course to ourselves.

the fairways are good, the greens are average, the pace of play is poor. they let anyone on the course. the group in front of me could not hit the ball 20 yds the whole game .
marshal apologized many times as we were three groups waiting on several holes.
I'm patient because I'm on Maui but the rental clubs belongs in the dump

Aloha Allen, I wanted to follow up with you on your review of your experience. We have M2 and M6 rental clubs, so I am not too sure what the issue was with your set, if you please explain further I would appreciate it. As for the pace of play, we do our very best to keep groups moving along, especially those groups that don't have much golf experience. We can't tell someone they can't play our course just because of their skill level. We pride ourselves on being the "fun and friendly golf club" on island so we try to make everyone's day special, regardless of golfing ability. Some days are harder than others to keep pace moving but that's why we have the marshals to assist. Our average round time is just a little over 4 hours during high season but like I said, it can get a little longer on some days. We hope to see you out here again so you can get the true Maui Nui Experience! Mahalo, Maui Nui Staff

Beautiful setting and well maintained course with great views of the Pacific throughout the 18 holes. Carts are all propane. Can find exceptional green fee deals on Golf Now app. All staffing were very friendly.

Maui Nui is a public golf course on the island of Maui.
The course is in great shape. You can easily walk the course. The weather was amazing. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.
The fairways were average in width.
The greens were a little slow.
The course has a mix of short and long holes.
You can rent your clubs at the course, however we rented our clubs somewhere else.
The restaurant has a nice variety of food.
They have a nice driving range.

I am new to golfing, my husband loves to golf and has been playing for a while, but we are both pretty amateur. This golf course was beautiful and all we could have hoped for on our first visit to Maui. We basically had the course to ourselves (we chose a later tee time), and it was so nice to have this time with him.

I first played Elleair in Feb '04 and found it to be an average course considering the others I had played in Maui. In Feb '05 I went back and played a twilight round($75...twilite starts at 1PM) since my 14yr old son got a junior rate($47). Again, I found the conditions to be quite good. The biggest problem I had was the way the course was run. Our group was three groups behind a five-some of Japaneese women who obviously had never played golf before. First off, a course rarely, if ever lets groups of five play. Secondly, Elleair had NO rangers on the course to regulate the speed of play. We ended up quitting after playing 16 holes in five and a half hours. The course also did not have any sort of beverage cart. The rental clubs were TaylorMade($40). Considering other course options on Maui, I doubt I would go back to Elleair.
