A busy beach, but a perfect place to learn to snorkel as it is quite shallow and lots of small reefs to see lots of fish and turtles.

The water is very and great for just floating around or snorkeling. You can go to the ends of the beaches for snorkeling. We played in the water for hours boogie boarding. It's good for beginners. If you get sick of the beach, just walk to beach 2

Kamaole Beach 3 was very nice, huge and had temporary water slides on the weekends for kids. The beach itself was awesome. There were flat calm waters a lot in the mornings around 9 - 10 and then the waves started picking up.

This beach is located across from the condo we stayed at, Kamaole Sands, and is the best place to watch the sunset. Weekends you will see many local families and tourists.

OMG! Little did we know that our daily treks to the beach at Kam 3 would allow us to to swim with the turtles! The only drawback---not having a water-friendly Go-Pro or a waterproof case for my iPhone. Hard to capture pics of the turtles but embedded in my memory for life!!! If you head to the south part of... More

We went to this beach after looking on the internet for the best beach in Kihei, Maui. This was one of the beaches recommended. It is a small beach but great for swimming, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and just sunbathing. Caution, get there early because it gets crowded. I would recommend getting there by 10 AM. It appears that families like... More

This became our go-to beach when we were in Maui. It was very close to our hotel, and the shops of Kihei, yet far enough removed from the traffic and noise to be a very enjoyable spot to swim, relax, read and people watch.

There are three Kamaole Beaches in Kihei and they all have lifeguards during the day. The thing that makes Kamaole Beach 3 different is the large grassy area which is great for a meal (tables and benches provided), throwing a Frisbee or just laying on a blanket. Kam 3 also has a swingset for the kids, beach shower, restrooms even... More

Nice sand, nice water, life guards, grassy areas, good viewing of whales out farther. Only minus is the public; some are not picking up their own trash.
