We've gone out with the canoe club before and had a great time, so we were excited to share the experience with our 3 year old. We checked in with them a couple days prior to when we planned to go and they said there was no minimum age requirement. We brought our own life vest for the little one,... More

Located in North Kihei, the introductory paddle is Tuesdays and Thursdays with a donation of $30. Parking is available on the verge along the side of the road. Best to arrive about 06:30 to complete the waiver forms and get kitted out before the briefing, instruction and traditional Hawaiian chant. Once completed you head to the beach and select a... More

The Kihei Canoe Club is a great way to have the experience of paddling in outrigger canor and if you are lucky observe humpback whales up close. You paddle with experienced paddlers who make sure paddling stops when the canoe is at the required distance (Coast Guard rules) from the whales. But the whales are not bound by these rules... More

We discovered a great activity and workout we don't have at home! Get there by 6:45 am (Tuesday and Thursday) to be in line to fill out paperwork. It's first come first served and one morning over 30 ppl were turned away .$30 first time, $10 next visit(s) After a thorough orientation, the excitement begins. Canoes were out for over... More

I happened upon this club as I was walking the beach one morning. A handful of people were launching canoes and I asked if they took "tourists". They immediately said they had room in the canoe and that I should join them!! What fun! We paddled out looking for humpback whales as our leader chanted a whaling call in Hawaiian.... More

Aloha! Maui Canoe Club was fabulous! We met family here that are locals and they all had a spectacular time the views were perfect, even saw a turtle! The guide was helpful and fun! We have also paddled with Kihei Canoe Club and loved that too!

Great morning row with the fabulous Kihei Canoe Club. The members were very welcoming & patient. The canoes were well maintained & the ride quite scenic. We were lucky enough to see Sea turtles along with the beautiful reefs.

Have no clue what happened to the previous reviewer, but this is a great experience and not for the meek and unadventurous. The real deal for only a 30.00 donation to the all-volunteer club. We went 2 weeks in row and the second trip is free or a small donation. Be prepared to paddle hard and follow instructions. They don't... More

Sorry, but they really blew it on our visit. Very disorganized operation, granted it's a club, but they are taking $30.00 a person to go out for 30-40 minutes and paddle, so the expectations while tempered and given the benefit of the doubt were still far from expectations. The lead organizer is pretty gruff, admonished one of our group for... More
