We always visit Maui and have never taken a Surf Lesson. This year our 17yr old daughter decided it was time. We had the best experience with our wonderful Surf instructor Mikey and the photographer John. They were so much fun and had us all up surfing. I highly recommend using Wave's and its way worth the $$.

My wife, son, and I surfed with Waves Hawaii Surf School for three days under private instruction. The surf instructors are top notch and kept our four year old son safe. In addition, my wife and I were able to catch multiple waves during each session. There are lots of surfing outfits that operate out of Kihei but I strongly recommend Waves Hawaii Surf School as your choice for lessons.

This was my daughter's 2nd time surfing (she's 10). She had a 2 hour lesson with Eddie and he was fantastic. Eddie ensured that she had a blast, stayed safe and learned a ton - even in a short period of time. By the end of her lesson, her improvement was noticeable. Highly recommend this surf school - they were great! And, they work with a local photographer who goes out and captures action shots on the water. We were able to buy all the images and Air Drop to my iPhone for a reasonable $.

So on a good note, the kids each got up on their surf boards and this is their first time surfing, so that is a win. They ranked this as one of the best activities they did on Maui. Downside is that it was very crowded - multiple surf schools at this location. Our group did have 3 instructors, but there were also 15+ people surfing - and that was just our group! There were probably 50-75 surfers in the water total at this beach. Overall the instructors were nice, gave the kids pushes so they could catch a wave, but not sure they learned enough to go on their own any time soon. The "pictures" afterwards was very disorganized and expensive even by maui standards, so if you want those have someone who isn't surfing bring a camera down to the beach.

My girls, ages 12 & 15, took the small group surfing lessons last week on 12/23/2019. Their instructor was amazing, funny, patient, and super knowledgeable. The girls were surfing within 20 minutes! Additionally, we got some amazing pictures as well. Lastly, the instructor was kind to tell us where to watch for the best view and even loaned me some water shoes due to the rocks. Excellent customer service. We would highly recommend Waves Hawaii Surf School for surfing lessons. Mahalo, Marjie Starkey for Chloë & Lucy

The instructor was excellent. Our group consisted of a dad (45), a grandpa (74) and two kids (13 and 15) all were up on the boards and surfing in less than an hour. They said it was the best activity of our two week trip! Also, they coordinate with a professional photographer for the most incredible photos! A don’t miss experience!

Eddie and Epes gave us one of our best family experiences in Hawaii. Kids (6 and 9) had never surfed. Our 9 year old surfed with Epes. He worked her slowly from riding on her knees to riding a wave all by herself. And Eddie rode on the board with our little guy, but did it in a way (laying on the board) that our boy could ride the waves and feel safe. By the end he would just barely hold his heel so he felt like he was doing it on his own. My wife (mid 40s) had never been on a board and was riding by herself at the end of the lesson. We will use Waves again when we come back so the kids can progress to their next skill level. Highly recommend both Eddie and Epes.

Just three words of praise for Waves. "Eddy is amazing." Booked multiple days of private lessons with Waves and Eddy transformed my son from a beginner to someone who belongs in the line up. Fun, encouraging, wise and accommodating. Could not ask for anything more. There are many schools to chose from, but it gets down to the people and Eddy was supreme. A gem and a memorable experience for us! Plus, we came away with amazing photos of us to share our bragging rights.

My wife and I booked a 2h semi-private surf lesson last minute. Super easy interaction on the phone. We filled out the waivers on our phones as well, which was also very easy. After a 10 minute intro Randy got us immediately into the water and made sure we caught the right waves. Both my wife and I were able to get on the board many times and had a blast. Randy was also super friendly and helpful. Absolutely fun day! Thank you!

It was easy to park and find the Waves van for our lesson. Our family of 4 ages 49-14 had a great time! It was our first time surfing and we were all able to get up with Fanti’s patient instruction. Fanti is no ka oi!! I would definitely recommend Waves surf school.
