Dan and Ed were our guides, they did an awesome job pointing out interesting locations on the way up such as George Harrison and Admiral Nimitz homes. Fun ride with awesome views.

Our guide, Doug, a native Hawaiian, made me feel welcome and loved from the time we first met. He explained so much about the culture and history of Hawaii that he made me thirst for more information. Billy and Alex, our downhill biking guides, were professional, courteous and downright fun--we rode, we laughed, and we learned. Such an exhilarating experience.... More

They were pretty efficient and got us to the carter early. When we piled back in the van for warmth, they told us exactly when we would want to go back to the carter for first light. They drove is down the carter a bit and then we started our bike tour. We did not have any issues with lengthy... More

This was our second bike trip down from the Haleakala crater. Unfortunately I cannot remember the first company we used but this company is definitely not worth the money. All of the staff wasted a great deal of time talking about themselves. We did not ride through the interesting parts of the crater such as the lilac, nor did we... More

Booked directly through their phone-lines and was told that "Lunch is included". Were picked up and driven to the Maui Downhill store location, had coffee and some small pastries, were driven to the inactive volcano, watched the sunrise, biked down the volcano at a very slow and boring pace. Were sternly told to stop going back and forth in the... More

I had done two bike rides down haleakala previously while my wife went on other tours. The tour description did NOT say the tour got up to the summit for a view of the crater, but when one hears "Haleakala" they think "crater". We were about halfway up when the tour guide told us this particular tour does not go... More

Friends suggested this trip and our hotel concierge convinced us after a few minutes of discussion. The kids took a little convincing...we weren't sure about an early morning or bike riding down a mountain. However, the view from Haleakala is breathtaking at sunrise, and that alone was well worth the entire cost of the trip. The bike ride down offered... More

We got picked up at our hotel at the exact time promised - 2:40 AM. We did a few more stops, and then went to the Maui Downhill headquarters. There we received a store bought pastry (breakfast) and waited to get helmets and rain gear. We arrived at the top of the mountain 60 minutes before sunrise. It was 31... More

Great event until the end of the ride. Then they wasted over an hour of our time by stopping at a food truck where none of us wanted to eat except our guide ( we have better free food on the cruise ship) and another half hour dropping off the bikes. Vacation time is precious and it is frustrating to... More

After reading reviews, we decided to book this tour. It was hard to think about getting up in the middle of night and going somewhere cold, but it was totally worth it! Maui Downhill's pick up was on time, we were fitted with rain jackets and pants at their shop, then went in vans for 1-1/2 hours up the crater.... More
