Billy and Steve did a great job. Very informative and open to questions. Turned out to be cloudy at the summit so no view of the crater. Not much we could do about since weather is unpredictable there. Ride down from 6500 feet elevation went smoothly. Excellent job of controlling traffic around us. One note, you only go as fast... Went with one of my daughters (12). Picked up at 2:05, which was earlier than early. Arrived at sunrise point around 4:45, which was about an hour and 15 minutes before sunrise. It's cold up there, and even though we stopped at bike shop on the way to get some warmer gear, it was still cold (about 40 degrees). Fortunately... More

Thank goodness the company had wind-proof pants and jackets/gloves for us to borrow! It dropped (as we'd been told it would) about 40 degrees from the temperature at the base to the temperature at the top of the crater! It was a lovely sunrise; we got prime spots along the railing because we were there early enough, and then the... More

Never easy getting up at 1.30am when your on holiday!! However we would do this all over again in a heart beat!!! Big Doug picked us up & got us well prepared for what the top of Mt Haleakala may have in store for us. Very respectful & entertaining host! After the glory of the sunrise we hooked up with... More

Although we had read some negative reviews on TA about this excursion, we decided to go ahead and book this excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines while docked in Maui. Bad idea! We arrived at the pier at 8:15am as instructed but did not depart until 30 minutes later because the driver of the van was waiting for a family who... More

Third time to see the sunrise at Haleakala, but first time riding a bike down. If you do not like speed or are uncomfortable riding a bike this is not for you. I took my 18 and 15 yo boys who are adventurous and the loved it. Get to experience all the senses and natural. Beautiful ride down and very... More

The pros: not often you stand on the top of a volcano above clouds and watch the sun rise. Guide, drivers (one up one down) are super nice. They keep you safe from other cars by blocking road with van behind riders. Bike Ride is comfortable pace for all. Cons: Advertised as breakfast included. That consisted of a small cold... More
