Our half day hike with Nick was fantastic. Having been picked up from our hotel, Nick gave us lots of information about the Maui ranging from cultural to historical to botanical anecdotes. Nick was really well informed and answered all our questions. The hike itself was a lot of fun. We felt suitably challenged and safe, and were encouraged to be adventurous along the way. The private waterfalls were beautiful to see and to experience. Swimming in the lakes was cold but enchanting! The highlight was the jump from the 15 foot waterfall which took some courage. We had so much fun and felt inspired. Our 11 year old and 14 year old both enjoyed it thoroughly too.

Toward the end of our stay on Maui, my husband and I took the Hike Maui Combo Tour- Kayak, Snorkle, Waterfal Hike. This was the best of a number of adventure tours we took on Maui and worth every cent. Our kayak guide, Trevor(I think) was very knowledgeable about local marine life and very conscientious of everyone's safety. Our open ocean kayak tour resulted in several close up and unexpected whale sightings, and ended with a snorkeling experience over a beautiful reef filled with tropical fish and very inquisitive sea turtles. After that, our hike guide Mike (I think) took us to a rainforest off the Hana Rd., for a guided walk through the forest to two waterfalls, we we could jump from a cliff into the pool, with his help, and swim if we chose. Mike knew much about rainforest plants, and it was really fun to listen to him talk about the history, culture and ecology of this island. We even enjoyed the sandwich and cookie, part of the provided lunch. We would definitely take another tour with Hike Maui. Great guides, very fun experience.

We went as a private group of 7 on their waterfall and rainforest hike and it was well worth it. From the moment George our guide picked us up from the Kahului park and ride, he was a nonstop source of local information and made the hike so much more enjoyable, pointing out all the different plants and their origins. Kept a good pace, but perfect multi-generational activity. 4 teen boys (and one adventurous adult) loved the cliff jumping into the waterfall pools!

We had a fantastic time on this. Jason our guide was very funny, a wealth of information, and took us to the most amazing waterfalls. His knowledge of horticulture was impressive too. The hike was very moderate in exercise level, though my family is very fit, I think it was right for the group that was there. Jason took time with one of the guests who wanted to jump off the 20 ft cliff into a wonderful deep pool below the waterfall (my family all did it), but she was intimidated. He never made her feel like she should, but she really wanted to. After awhile, he took her to a lower spot. She was still intimidated. He then took her to a small rock about 1 foot off the water, and had her jump in from there. Then, she climbed back up to the midway jump and she did it! I was so impressed with his patience, professionalism and just the way he handled the situation. He made her happy, and we all cheered for her. What a great guide!

My husband and I are both in our 70’s and even though we have hiking experience, hiking craters at 10,000 feet elevation significantly tested our stamina. The terrain is ruggedly beautiful and the vistas breath taking.
Our guide Des was superlative. She has extensive knowledge of the area and Hawaiian history having been born and raised on the island. And she was patient. My husband and I lagged behind the group on our return ascents up the two trails that we hiked. She did not rush us, as we were on “Hawaiian time”. She encouraged rests for all on the tour- this allowed us to further enjoy the scenery and hike. At the end of our hikes not one in our group had signs of altitude sickness and this says a lot about the skill and care of our guide Des.
Moderate hike yes, but easier for those younger.

We did a 3 hour Rainforest hike and waterfall swim adventure. Jacob was our guide and he was excellent. Pick up was on time and organized. Jacob told stories about Maui and Hawaii that even kept my two young kids entertained on the drive to the hiking point. Then during the hike he was soo knowledgeable about the plants and wild life. We were able to try several fruits growing right in the forest. On a day that water was too high and rough to really cliff jump and swim he made it an amazing adventure still.

This was a lovely half day trip. We visited four different waterfalls near the Twin Falls area right off of the Road to Hana and we swam in each of the pools. My husband loved the cliff jumping at one waterfall. Even though we saw several other Hike Maui groups at the beginning, it still felt very private. After the first pool, we had them all to ourselves. It was an easy hike, and a nice change of pace and scenery from the beaches of West Maui. Des was an excellent guide. She was very prepared and had a lot of knowledge to share. Loved the fresh picked lilikoi and guava.

Totally enjoyed this experience. Had a relatively small group (7 people in all), and we covered about 4-5 miles in total. The trail was mostly very easy, with one or two tricky parts, but our guide (Joel) helped us through it seamlessly. Lots of information about plant life and Hawaiian culture / history along the way. The waterfalls and pools were by far the best part. The kids will never forget this experience; neither will I!

Isaiah took us on a great hike to two waterfalls. We didn't have a lot of time so we picked the short hike to a couple of falls. He was very knowledgeable of all the plants and trees. This was a bonus to our trip. He showed us avocado trees, passion fruit and pineapples. The hike was not difficult but was fun. We swam in the cold water and took pictures of all of us under the falls. While others said we could do this trip on our own, Hike Maui made it very worthwhile to use them. They drove us to the site, took us in a private entrance and knew exactly where to go. I highly recommend taking this tour. Ask for Isaiah, too.

Had a great cruise excursion with Hike Maui! We spent 5.5 hours on a gentle walk between two of the twin falls, then over for lunch in Makawao before having an hour to shop. We stopped at Ho’okipa for watching the sea turtles before wrapping up. Randalyn was amazing! She told many interesting facts, some cheesy jokes, and shared her personal experiences as a Maui native. On the waterfall walk, she shared her flora knowledge, teaching us about ginger flowers and hibiscus flowers. She brought mango and papaya from her front yard as part of the local fruit and vegetable tasting (with taro, purple sweet potato, coconut, papaya, apple bananas, mango, and chocolate chips).
