“The ride, the thrill, the beauty, never ends” “Hāna and Beyond” is a small locally owned tour company from Hāna Maui Hawaii! The owner was born and raised in Hāna! Graduated from Hāna High School, and has over 17 years of professional tour guiding experience. He’s been driving this road since he was 16 and knows it inside out! Today we have a few additions to the Ohana that show promise and the same enthusiasm, and love meeting new faces and getting to know you while showing you our home of Hāna! We booked this tour through an agency at the hotel, skeptical at first and uncertain if it was worth the cost. But it sounded like a good overall tour of Maui. For many waking up at 6am is a breeze, for me, i had nightmares about it :-), but it turned out to be easy. The tour: Lani was our tour guide, she was amazing, the skepticism we had about the trip, vanished, she created an environment that was fun, entertaining, adventurous and educational. Her knowledge of the island was vast, no boring or scripted stories, rather natural and interesting, she even picked the perfect music playlist, educated us about each and ever stop, every bridge, town and plant we saw on the trip. In her own way, she made it trip worth repeating and sharing with others. Thank you Lani for making this a memorable trip for myself, the family and others on this tour. Oh wait cant forget her excellent driving skills 😀.

I have motion sickness, but I was saved when we stopped for banana bread. They sold a ginger drink that allowed me to enjoy the whole trip! Our driver was amazing, very funny, very authentically concerned about the future of this beautiful place. Some pretty scary portions of the road, but he was completely calm and confident. What an experience.

The narrow road and overlooking the ocean as well as the waterfalls are exceptional Maui experience. I could have driven it but wouldn’t enjoy the sceneries. Glen, the captain and the driver, make the trip so interesting and enjoyable with all his knowledge of the history of Hana as well as Maui itself. Very well recommended for others to take the tour. You can’t say you’ve been to Maui until you did the Road to Hana.

Such a unique experience, and Charlie was amazing! While we had to turn around due to a landslide, he took the time to stop at different places on the way back and shared some incredible stories from his own childhood in Hana. He was so patient and kind with our older travel partners, helping with everything and making sure everyone was comfortable. We truly felt like we were on a family road trip with him, showing us a fantastic variety of locations, laughing, and learning about how he and his family thrive. Thank you, Charlie! Can’t wait to take you fishing in Alaska!

What a treat to get to visit a cultural experience in Hana! Our tour guide Emma was amazing since her family has lived here for generations, we actually passed her house in Hana. We enjoy stops at many places, the itinerary is very organized. Loved it!

Great tour for the whole family! We had a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. He did a great job explaining many things during our full circle tour which is a long journey. He made sure we had lots of food, beverages and most importantly bathroom breaks!
I would highly recommend doing a tour on the road to Hana as it’s a dangerous drive that requires a really skilled driver, which is why I would highly recommend this tour company.

The Road to Hana and Beyond tour was amazing!! They come pick you up directly at the hotel, and you tour all the way to Hana. It was amazing! Super good service, super comfortable, the guide-driver ( Gardel) was super chill while being very articulate and quite knowledgeable. And a super good driver (which is highly needed for that road!). He engaged with everyone on the tour, making it a very enjoyable trip! I already recommended this particular trip to friends and family! The views are truly breathtaking! I do not suggest to attempt this road by yourself ( It might be prohibited wit rental card by the way). Do bring cash for the trip, we stopped at few places on the way that does not take cards.

Our tour guide was Damien, aka The Local Boy and it was the best day there. We learned more in a few hours about Maui than we have in 20 years. We went off the regular route and got see some areas that usually only locals get to experience. A day we’ll never forget and Damien made it an experience of a lifetime. Mahalo Damien<3

We picked this activity through the resort activity desk. And in all honesty it wasn’t what I expected. At the end of it I felt drained, robbed with time at hand and pointless. The entire trip was rushed and the time allotted for each stop was cut. The diver/ guide (Glen) was rude and unpleasant. There were couple of instance where he could have completely avoided his rude comments. Also, a big cross for us was having a passenger who was unwell ( bad cough and cold) be seated in the same van. There was no due diligence to keep Covid safety guidelines in check. The passenger was coughing throughout the trip. And lastly, other than the drive there were only two big attractions where you want to spend more time Wai’anapanapa black sand beach and Pua’a ka’a Falls but again not enough time. Beach was like less than an hour but the advertised time was 1hr 15mins. And Falls was barely 25 mins and advertised time was 30. Expectations is that you will be able to do everything (change/ swim/ lunch/ restrooms and still enjoy!) within new expected timelines. Not worth it for us. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Was so blessed to have Damien "Local Boy" as our guide. Learning the history and culture of Maui and the Road to Hana makes a 100% difference! I've never got teary-eyed looking at scenery but I got emotional several times during this trip because of the beauty of the sights. It was absolutely breathtaking. The road itself is definitely no joke! So glad we didn't try and navigate this road on our own, plus we wouldn't have gotten the back story of the history of Maui. I'd recommend this tour 100x to anyone and if you're lucky enough to get the local boy born and raised in Maui it'll truly be your lucky day!
