It was raining and we stopped here to eat our picnic lunch. We sat in the pavilion. It wasn't very clean. The restrooms across the road were not clean either. The view was nice!

We traveled to Hana Bay one morning, looking for a place to eat. What an amazing view! The black sand is gorgeous and feels so good on the toes. The beach is small and is used mostly by families in Hana. It is a bit...More

On the way to "Hana", I often stop here for a picnic lunch before heading back. In their zest to concur the "Road to Hana", many travelers never actually visit the town itself. Hana Bay is it's own kind of beautiful and a great place...More

We stopped here on our way to Ohe'o Gulch, its a nice stop, but if you don't have too much time, you can skip this and go to the next location.

We would have loved to have checked out more of Hilo’s secrets but we were doing a self- guided tour, so basically with only half the drive completed at Hilo at 3:00 pm we took in the viewpoint looking across to the Cruise Ship Terminal,...More

Great view and picture spot to stop at after the long drive to Hana. This is also a nice place to dip in the ocean to cool off.

It’s true that the trip is about the journey and not the destination. We stopped at the bay just to say we got there, but truly there are more beautiful bays along the road to Hana.
