The Haiku Mill was only used a short time for processing sugar cane on Maui and is now used as a destination venue for weddings or similar gatherings. It is located a short distance up Haiku Road from the Hana Highway. The tour is interesting and not very long, maybe an hour. The grounds and the building features an eclectic collection of objects from around the world. It is a nice and easy walk... a relaxing and picturesque way to spend an hour or two.

How can anyone do biz with a place that doesn't have the courtesy of returning phone calls? It is just rude and says they could care less about prospective business.

Our guide was lovely and gave us lots of information about the plants and the mill. However, as we came to see the historical mill and we were disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, this place is magnificent, but there isn’t much historical building left, more just ruins. Our guide did say that because of the weather conditions, most of the original things have disintegrated over time. This place is a wedding venue, which was mentioned many times. It photographs beautifully and the owners have added many pretty things to the property. Having said that, we were disappointed with the lack of Hawaiian things, being that we are visiting from Europe, had we wanted to see old french things in a beautiful ruin, we would have gone to France. The staff are charming and lovely and very helpful and informative. All in all, if you like history and want to see an old mill, skip it, you won’t find that here. If you want to take pretty pictures , 100% visit.

The tour was very well organized and the docent was clearly passionate about the history of the mill. The plants were beautiful with many pretty flowers and interesting trees. This is well worth the hour we spent there and I would recommend the stop when traveling to Paia or Mama's Fish House.

The tour was ok. The grounds are beautiful. They specialize in destination weddings for 100 to 120. After you get ice tea and cookies.
