I played the course several times. The ocean views are spectacular on so many of the holes. The number 12 is is breathtaking and I could have stayed there, forever. Perfect greens, fairways and tee boxes - the landscaping is a 10. The starters were so helpful, and the driving range was exceptional with Pro V1 practice balls. The cart had GPS and digital score cards. I can hardly wait to return and play it again and again.

Played Manele golf course under the member for a week program. This amounts to 7 days of unlimited golf for $1,500. Managed to play 8 rounds which is about $3,200 in greens fees. For one who loves the golf course was well worth it. I stayed at the four seasons Manele and they gave me a golf cart to take to the course every morning ( no need for a shuttle ) and my clubs were on a cart waiting for me to tee off. I usually teed off first and played in 3 hours. They then had another cart waiting for me that I could take back to the hotel. This is pampered golf and was a wonderful experience. I have played here many times and am already getting ready to book next year. Remember you must be a hotel guest to play here so it is admittedly an expensive trip.

Manele Golf Course is what a golf course should be. The course was in impeccable shape. The staff was friendly. The views are outstanding. There were a lot of workers on the course, but that is how they keep that course in such great shape.

We would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf.

Amazing. First class operation from the pro shop to the carts. Drinks at the range and a sweet range it is with beautiful turf overlooking the ocean. Incredible. The course is challenging but playable and every hole is on the ocean or has views of the ocean. Condition is wonderful. Beautiful, classy and memorable. Can’t ask for more.

Im a 2 handicap who has been lucky enough to play some of the best courses in the world- but none prettier and in better shape than this one! After a 45 minute ferry ride in which we saw numerous whales at play ( mId February ) we took a shuttle to the clubhouse; the bag guys and pro shop personnel were helpful and very friendly. After getting a workout on the driving range ( complete with PRO V 1 practice balls) which overlooks the Pacific- we headed to the first tee and were treated to perfectly manicured tees and greens for the next four hours! There were a couple of blind tee shots but this hardly diminshed the over all enjoyment of the course. Number 12 is simply amazing- hit at least one shot from the tips just to get the full impact of this intimadating hole! If you are in Maui- dont miss the opportunity to play this track. Pricey but you will love it no matter what your nadicap!

Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to review Manele Golf Course. We are so delighted that you fully enjoyed your time here – from the PRO V1 practice balls to our signature number 12 hole. We hope to welcome you back to Lana’i in the near future. A Hui Hou, Scott Ashworth Director of Golf Scott.Ashworth@fourseasons.com

Played golf at "Challenge at Manele" on island of Lanai -- it's a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Good course but perhaps frustrating for first-time having played it. Numerous blind shots, quite a few mandatory carries over brushy areas. First time players don't know what's ahead on some holes and, if one has played it more than once, would know more on how to manage the course (where to lay up, what more to avoid, where to "let the big dog eat", etc. So, if it's the first time on this course, don't get too frustrated -- it's a Nicklaus coastal golf course and views are great. You'd probably score better on it on subsequent rounds.

Went over on a Thursday from Maui. I can't say enough about the day. First of all, the entire staff bent over backwards to make sure our day was special! We were greeted by name by our shuttle driver at lanai harbor as we disembarked from the ferry. It was about 10 minuets from the time he grabbed our bags to our arrival at the golf club. While it is not inexpensive, because holes 17 & 18 are closed for renovations, we were able to play as much golf we wanted. Our plan was to play 18 holes and then head to the resort for lunch 18 more holes and then happy hour before taking the last ferry back, but the resort had been bought out by a company and we were not allowed to visit the hotel. At first I was disappointed, but it quickly disapaited. In the golf shop is complimentary coffee, tea, water, cookies, pound cake and the best banana bread ever. We headed to the range to warm up where we could use as many balls and take as long as we wanted. If we got tired, there was a couple of rattan chairs overlooking the ocean right on the range. When we were ready, they had our bluetooth carts stocked with water, and then laughingly apologized that we might have another player on the course. After getting our music rocking, we completed 18 holes in 3 hours after letting one person play through. It was like having a private golf course. We had an amazing lunch at the golf shop restaurant which was much nicer than your average golf shop restaurant. I had the prawn BLT and my husband the rueben. It overlooked the ocean as did every hole on the golf course! After lunch, we headed out for 16 more holes and then caught the earlier ferry home. What an amazing day! Highly recommend it!!

Enjoyable from many aspects. There are several sets of tees from which you can test your game but being a resort course, it's not designed to beat you up. Beautiful views, great service and practice facilities.

I just got back from staying at the Manele Bay Resort for 5 days. This is where the "Challenge at Manele" is. I have played over 100 courses all over the world and I would definitely rate this one in the top 5. Panoramic ocean views on almost every (if not every) hole. I am a 20 handicapper and shot it the mid 80's, so it was a little easier than I thought (or maybe I was just having a good day). There are 5 tee boxes. I probably should have moved back to the blues. Regardless, the course was in perfect shape. It gets little play (probably less than 100 golfers a day), so it stays in tip top shape. Course starts and ends with easy holes, but in between, there were holes with dramatic views and perfect greens. The green fees are expensive ($225 when I played). but it is unlimited play. I played 18 holes with my wife, then played 36 more. Since there weren't that many people on the course, I played all 54 holes in about 7 hours. They give you free water + rolls and coffee in the morning at the clubhouse.

while staying at Maui, got a package that included the roundtrip ferry to Lanai, and the green fees/tee time for both the Challenge and the Experience. The Challenge could be a brute from the back tee with the wind, but the view of the ocean from almost every hole is just simply divine...no wonder Bill Gates got married on the 12th hole. The Experience is quite different...more of a high country northeastern woodland course, still gorgeous. It was a full day, but well worth the trip. If possible, do visit both hotels...both are Four Seasons with impressive lobbies. By the way, make sure to have lunch at the club house @ the Challenge...food is good and view is even more stunning.
