Great from the air or by car!

All of the canyons and waterfalls on the island are stunning to visit. Here you feel almost like you've been transported to "Fantasy Island" or "Jurassic Park"!

It's not the Grand Canyon National Park ... but certainly worth the drive up the mountain. On a sunny day, the canyon coloration accented by the waterfalls is beautiful. If you continue driving a short distance from the Waimea Canyon lookout ... you'll be treated to a lookout point over the Napoli Coast.

Just be sure if you go on a tour that you know how long you'll be at the Canyon. We went with Roberts - guide was knowledgeable, but we were there for 30 minutes -- as long as we were given at an unremarkable gift shop. Try to establish that you will get close to an hour.

This was a fun and scenic drive as a family. We enjoyed the adventures along the way. We took one road up and another one down so we could see all of the views. Well worth the trip.

We drove around the canyon, stopped at all the viewpoints and did the Canyon Trail to the top of Waipo'o Falls. It was a great hike and we loved the views. I wasn't sure about visiting this spot since we are from Utah and get plenty of Mountain/Canyon views back home- but this was amazing! So glad we made the... More

This is a must do trip but make sure you go on a sunny day for the best experience. Drive slowly up to soak in the natural beauty and be ready to be blown away by the colors of the canyon. There are frequently locals selling small trinkets, stop and check them out. If you have the time and the... More

This is a mini grand canyon, beautiful and offers waterfalls. Great if you want to hike as there are hiking trails throughout the park. The views are great, lovely drive to the canyon.

The "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" is spectacular. We didn't have a chance to take a helicopter ride, but the car trip was great. There are several places one can stop and get good pictures of the scope of the canyon and beauty of the canyon, as well as the water falls. Well worth the drive! Best to see with... More

We spent an amazing day at Waimea Canyon with our kids and grandchildren. Wherever you looked, the views were breath-taking. It certainly helped that the weather was spectacularly good that day. Lots of good hiking trails and we were sorry that we did not have time to do a lot of hiking. A definite must for next time. The view... More

Yes we had to get up at 4am to fly over there but so worth it. The canyon is a true wonder breath taking I was in awe of it so beautiful. And so much bigger then I very expected. So amazing. Just do it worth the whole day just yo see it.
