This is a not to be missed outing and easily done on your own. Take the Waimea Canyon Road before you get into the town of Waimea of you will miss a lot of the spectacular viewings. There are many pull offs from which to see this deep canyon that has been compared to the Grand Canyon. The actual Waimea... More

People are going to include photos on their reviews of the Waimea Canyon but the photos won't do it justice. There are a couple of roads along the side of the canyon and one to the top. If you get motion sickness easily, the roads may not be for you but there are several lookout points to stop and grab... More

Had an amazing day here on November 20th. We spent over 4 hours visiting the attraction, stopping at most lookout points, all well-worth it. Be sure to go the Pu'u o Kila Lookout at the end of the road, the view is absolutely breath- taking. Such a great day here, don't miss it!

It one of the best natural place in the world. You must to see it. Its worth to spend half day here at least, but only in fine weather. There are many lookpoints with parkplace on the road. Best colours has canyon in the afternoon.

Just amazing. Lots of look out points along the way. Make sure you have lots of time as time does pass when you stop along the way and you will want to stop especially if your driving as you can't really look out of window as road is very bendy and steep. There are toilets at the lookouts. Wasn't that... More

We hike the trails near Waimea every visit to Kauai. Our favorites going toward the Napali coast are the Awaawapuhi and the Nualolo. Both make excellent day hikes. We also hiked the Kukui trail to the bottom of the canyon. For those not interested in hiking, merely drive to all of the lookouts. Awesome views.

It's a little bit of a trek to drive up the canyon, but you won't be disappointed! The view is breathtaking, but you need to see it when it's not rainy or overcast. Maybe late morning after clouds have burned off?

I am so very glad I did not miss this incredibly beautiful canyon with it's rich panoply of colors and shadows of moving clouds shifting the colors as you stand senses filled. One of the greatest places of Hawaii.
