Kaua`i is such an unbelievable slice of paradise, you wouldn't know where to start! Waimea Canyon is a great place to stop. Since you will find yourself getting up before the roosters, there are too many places to choose for breakfast, but stop at one on the way to this natural wonder. Once you start to climb in elevation in... More

Well worth the drive. The lookouts were all worth stopping at as the views were great. Try to go on a clear day as it will improve the views.

Put that rental car to use. The drive to Waimea Canyon is not too far from Poipu. The views are phenomenal. You will be super happy you made the trip. While some steep walking and stairs are found in some places, some views are wheelchair accessible.

Beautiful. Great photo ops! Do not go if it is raining, windy or foggy! We were pelted by rocks the first time we went up and vowed to never go again! I'm glad we did on a clear day. It is beautiful. There is no food or beverages unless you go all the way to the lodge (1hour and half... More

This is a beautiful canyon with a great hike(s) and amazing views. It's a little bit of a drive but absolutely worth it.

Waimea Canyon is amazing! We loved getting to see different landscape than we saw on the rest of the island. The pull outs along the road provided us with spectacular view points to be in awe of the canyon. The road is windy, so beware if you get carsick easily. We didn't hike around, just stopped at the overlooks, but... More

Even if are not up to the beautiful hikes in this area, it is a great place to drive thru and check out all the look outs. It is an out and back drive. Eat before you go as there are not eateries in that area.

Great destination, fun drive to the lookout. Many places to stop along the way and explore. I have been to the canyon 4 times and always find some place new to explore.

This trip is worth every minute of your time. Allow lots of time to get there because the roads are slow going and you'll want to stop frequently to take in all the gorgeous views. There are many hikes but the trails can be muddy so dress accordingly. Don't leave the island until you've seen Waimea Canyon!

Awesome views of the canyon. We hiked Canyon Trail and also stopped by the ranger station at the top. Even if you don't want to hike, it's worth the drive up to take in the views.
