This little detour gives the history of sugar plantations, which are not just Kauai's but Hawaii's main export. it gives good background and history of the ups and downs, the hardships and rewards their ancestors encountered while creating this now BOOMING industry! Recommended if your in the area.

Very interesting and reminded me that the hard working ancestors handed down a real treasure...let's hope the Family Trust visits this museum so that they will be reminded of the sacrifices they made to provide this the Plantation Cottages.

This is interesting but not at all kept up. If you are a history buff you can glean information about how the sugar plantation started and progressed. How did French/Norwegian people end up in Hawii? That was not revealed, but was interesting nonetheless. Not worth a big detour, but of local interest.

Beautiful small museum tells the history of old west side Kauai up to the end of the sugar industry in 2009. Worth a visit before dinner at the Grove Cafe.

Really neat to come all the way from Bay area and find so much fun down in Hawaii, they have an archive of lots of neat objects used by the family, stop and take a look!
