Welcome to the Top Golf Experience on Kauai; Our highly acclaimed Princeville Makai Course boasts 18 championship holes Which were originally designed by Mr. Robert Trent Jones Jr. in the late 1960s and then renovated by RTJ Jr. in 2009. The new and improved Princeville Makai course is a breath taking par-72 tipping out over 7,200 yards. The layout boasts 6 Epic Oceafront Holes (3 Front nine & 3 Back nine), Immaculate Conditions, and Unmatched Aloha! Most visitors agree our ocean/mountain views are some of the best Hawaii golf has to offer. We also boast a friendly and fun regulation 9 hole experience on our Woods Course. This course Was Not Renovated, but ifairly priced for the experience. Well, enough about JUST Jawdropping Golf... It’s like playing in paradise. I hadn’t planned on playing on holiday - as it was a bit expensive and I didn’t want to take my clubs from UK to Hawaii. However when I arrived and saw how stunning it is, I couldn’t resist.
The practice range and greens are spectacular - with as many balls as you need.
The course itself is incredible, the tee boxes are nice they could be greens, and the greens and fairways are immaculate. And the views are unbeatable.
Rental clubs were great, with Callaway Rogue irons and Hybrids, Callaway Epic Flash driver, Callaway Mack daddy SW & GW, odyssey exo putter and I can’t remember the 3-wood. Plus you get 6 Makai branded balls. Golf carts with GPS and distance to the green are included with the green fees, which makes things a lot easier.
The staff are great - checking in regularly along the course to see if you need anything and sometimes offering advice. The drinks cart finds you a couple of times on the course too. Ice cold beers just makes it even better.
It’s awesome, can’t recommend it enough.

I frequently walk the mile and a half from my home to the Makai Golf Club snack bar to have a breakfast burrito or scrambled eggs and croissant with a cup of freshly brewed local coffee. Made to order. They also serve lunch items, wine and beer. One can order "to go" or comfortably sit at outdoor table under a roof and gaze out at the beautiful golf course or look the other way to watch folks playing tennis. There is an upscale bathroom and a golf shop with clothing and a variety of items plus a driving range. Oh and there is a TV turned to a sports channel... Can make a morning walk pure delight.

My husband and I were told this tour was great...however, we were skeptical. A tour around a golf course at sunset doesn't sound that appealing. Boy were we wrong!
Tom, our guide, has worked at the gold course for many years and is fulfilling a dream of his to play golf and live in Kauai. He was so personable and friendly and he even tried to remember everyone's name!
The tour itself was so beautiful. We decided to do this tour at the last minute and we were so happy that we did. The views are literally worth millions. The day of our tour was the day after a giant windstorm had gone through Kauai. Trees were down (almost on houses), the conditions were still windy, and the scenery looked a little different due to the storm. However, we saw Queen's Bath, long distance views of Hanalei, and the most gorgeous sunset.

We golfed several times for the Wednesday afternoon golf scramble during our 3 week stay on the north shore of Kauai. The fee -$ 150 includes club rentals (new Calloways), an hour golf clinic, 9 holes of a golf scramble and then time to continue to golf the back nine after the scramble. We also got to see beautiful sunsets from Hole 14 and Holes 6 and 7 with magnificent views of the coastline.

Our weekly Scramble was developed for the novice golfer to take advantage of our terrific Teaching Professionals here at The Makai and then applying what they have learned in a casual Scramble format.
So happy to see that you were able to enjoy the amazing sunset from our Signature 7th Hole overlooking Hanalei Bay with the majestic Bali Hai looming in the back ground!

Did not really know what to expect, and what a pleasant surprise.
Randy our tour guide, took about 40 people in 20 gold carts around, stopping along the way and providing great information on the area.
The golf course is set in one of the most beautiful, breathtaking locations and a sunset is the best opportunity for those stunning pictures we all want to take.
Really enjoyed it.
Do take a light jacket or a shawl. It can get a little nippy in the evening.

This sunset tour combines adult go carting with phenomenal views, great information, and meeting of people everywhere. Our group of 6 ranging in age from 13 to 75 had the best time. Views of Hanalei Bay, Queens Bath, the lighthouse.. I would include pics but don't want to ruin it for you. Absolutely the best. Can't say enough about it.. your guide Andy/Andrew will will disappoint you.

See the spectacular views for $50 (1 cart/2 people). Check in around 4:30, get 2 for 1 happy hr priced drinks, and drive your cart for a fun and informative tour of some of the most beautiful views on north shore. We've been coming to Kauai for 19 yrs and this was something easy, different and fun to do.

Sunrise Yoga with Tulasi is a fabulous experience. The scenery is gorgeous, the setting is amazing and the practice excellent. Most special Yoga I have ever done!

How close is this course to the Wyndham resort

There are two golf courses that actually wrap around the Wyndham and Westin properties. The Makai course consists of three 9 holes legs all are amazing to play and enjoy and the other is the fabled "Prince Course" but it is in a bit of Limbo at this time

They have a driving range. You should call pro shop for fees. However I was able to use the putting green 1 hour before close without any cost. these guys are pretty awesome and flexible.
you should play the course. Its one of the best - nice easy fairways .. and the views - stunning.

Map of the golf course gives the impression that it is somewhat inland, yet the indication is that it is located on the ocean?

While the club house is inland a little way there are 5 ocean view holes. Those holes sit up on a cliff and have amazing views out over Hanalei, Queens Bath, Anini reef, and the Kilauea Lighthouse. Part of the course winds around the woods and land away from the ocean, but it is all very beautiful with the plumeria and rainbow eucalyptus.

Go to the course web site for answer to this question. You can also book a tee time online and there may be specials. Also there is a reduced rate later in the day. You can also play 9 holes. There are 27 holes of golf and the woods course had fewer or no ocean views. The one with ocean views is the one we played.

Should be very easy to get on. You can call the course directly or use the Internet to book a package that includes other courses. I'd pass on Kauai Lagoon as the greens, when we there were poor. Princeville and Poipu Bay are fantastic.
And the restaurant at Princeville is vg with great service and fantastic views.
