Welcome to the Top Golf Experience on Kauai; Our highly acclaimed Princeville Makai Course boasts 18 championship holes Which were originally designed by Mr. Robert Trent Jones Jr. in the late 1960s and then renovated by RTJ Jr. in 2009. The new and improved Princeville Makai course is a breath taking par-72 tipping out over 7,200 yards. The layout boasts 6 Epic Oceafront Holes (3 Front nine & 3 Back nine), Immaculate Conditions, and Unmatched Aloha! Most visitors agree our ocean/mountain views are some of the best Hawaii golf has to offer. We also boast a friendly and fun regulation 9 hole experience on our Woods Course. This course Was Not Renovated, but ifairly priced for the experience. Well, enough about JUST Jawdropping Golf... This is supposed to be the #1 golf course in Kauai. I understand Covid is a serious problem, but what does that have to do with not supplying waters to the players?! I mean they put ice in the coolers, so they had to touch the coolers….. I was a rider for $45 and my husband & 16 year old son played. My son was half of my husband. All together it was around $450. We played Poipu 2 days ago & with 2 carts had 8 waters total.
The bag drop guy from Connecticut was pretty rude! Came straight up to our car rushing us. My husband had not changed into his golf shoes. Meanwhile our 16 yr old had taken the car to the parking area. Husband had to walk back to get his shoes. The older guy from Connecticut told me lots of people out here play with no shoes?!?! WTH
I don’t care what others do, we are wearing shoes. While my son was taking the cart to find my husband who was getting his shoes, the guy from Connecticut said my son was supposed to check in with him and then get a cart. Again WTH…he did! The Connecticut guy just forgot to write down the golf cart number.
Our tee-time was 1:00. At 12:40 he said we were up next. Ok well, my family is practicing for the few minutes we had left. Rushing us to the tee is not ok! Needless to say we were on the Teebox before 1:00. Felt rushed bc they want carts back at 4:35. They also wanted you to bring your cart back to a different spot at drop off meaning you had to carry your clubs to the car a good ways. This is not OK. This is supposed to be first class service at a top-notch golf course, and we did not get that. We played Ocean course & played Poipu & would choose those again over playing here. No cart girl for drinks/snacks. My 16 year old was $37 at the Ocean Course. $117ish here. No one at the start to tell us or give us any advice on any of the holes. Never again:(

Really enjoyed our tour. This the second time we have gone on this tour and we had a great experience both times. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we wanted to go again on our next trip back to Kauai. Tom, Head Golf Pro, typically leads the tour and we were fortunate enough to have him guide our tour both times. He asks and then reminds everyone in the group’s name. Tom is fun, kind and knowledge; he shares
a lot about the course, the area, and the history of the island. Both tours, we have been fortunate enough to get to see a baby albatross chick and it’s parents. The sunset over the ocean was beautiful. Nice evening! Highly recommend!

If your looking to play a fun round with amazing views this is the place to go . Course was in great shape .some challenging holes .Staff was very friendly . Recommend going early morning . Will play here again 100.

Tulasi Adeva Perrin is the best part of the Golf Course! She offers yoga called Sunrise Yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30am and it the most beautiful view over looking the ocean. She is one of the best yoga teachers on the island. Don't miss this experience! You even get to drive your own golf cart!

We have been known to say, "We are not just a Golf Course!" And so we are very happy to see that you were able to enjoy our Sunrise Yoga session while also experiencing our Ocean Front Beauty. I'm an avid golfer and have played all over the world (including belonging to a private club). The Makai Golf Club is is top-notch in every way. The golf layout, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design is stunning, with amazing ocean and mountain views. The staff is amazingly personable and helpful. The course is a bit of a challenge, but fun nonetheless.

I'm a terrible golfer, but I like to play. This beautiful golf course is just the ticket. Not too many sand taps or water hazards. The rough isn't too rough. And where else can you see the ocean and enjoy the mountains on the same hole. Friendly staff. Modern carts. Hawaii sunshine. Green, green greens.
Just make sure you bring your wallet. It does cost a bit to play.

My son-in-law played the front nine of this beautiful course in the north shore of Kauai. The wives rented a cart and followed us. I retained some very nice and new Calloway Clubs. The carts have GPS and that helps first timers with location and yardage. We hit a patch of rain but the carts allow you to cover the clubs. Some tee boxes are very close to a prior green. Holes 3 & 7 have unbelievable views. Hole 7 likes to eat golf balls but it was still great to play it (poorly). My cost for 9 holes and clubs was $158.00. Considering the location the beauty it was worth it. They have iced towels for you at the finish and more water.

We signed up for the sunset golf cart that would take us to the front 18 holes by the ocean. We were unfamiliar with the layout and ended up spending our whole time on the back nine and getting royally lost. When we returned to the club house we were given a total refund when we told them what had happened. We were invited to come back to go with a guide. We did that and are we ever glad. It was an absolutely lovely tour. We especially thank Andrew, Doug, and Tom for their patience and professionalism. If you do not wish to golf and want to experience one of the most beautiful places on earth this is the place for you.

Mahalo for your very honest "Wonderful Facility" review of the Princeville Makai Golf Club! I remember you returning after your first attempt at our amazing Sunset Golf Cart Tour! I am so happy I was able to talk you into to coming back later in the week to enjoy the special offer of a "Guided" tour by one of our very own golf professionals (Andrew)! You will be very happy to know since your time here we have added wonderful on course signage that assists all of our guests around the course during the tour along with the fact card! If you are ever near our paradise again we would love to have you back out on the course! Maybe next time you can try the "Sunrise Yoga" from our 7th tee box!

Play this course every year. service and course always in great condition. We played following a night of heavy rain so the course was wet and didn’t drain so well.

We participated in the Sunrise Yoga offered at The Princeville Makai, and what a wonderful experience! The views were incredible, and Tulsai was a fantastic instructor. She kept the practice light and fun for everyone, from those who were new to yoga to more experienced practitioners. Would absolutely recommend checking it out!

How close is this course to the Wyndham resort

There are two golf courses that actually wrap around the Wyndham and Westin properties. The Makai course consists of three 9 holes legs all are amazing to play and enjoy and the other is the fabled "Prince Course" but it is in a bit of Limbo at this time

They have a driving range. You should call pro shop for fees. However I was able to use the putting green 1 hour before close without any cost. these guys are pretty awesome and flexible.
you should play the course. Its one of the best - nice easy fairways .. and the views - stunning.

Map of the golf course gives the impression that it is somewhat inland, yet the indication is that it is located on the ocean?

While the club house is inland a little way there are 5 ocean view holes. Those holes sit up on a cliff and have amazing views out over Hanalei, Queens Bath, Anini reef, and the Kilauea Lighthouse. Part of the course winds around the woods and land away from the ocean, but it is all very beautiful with the plumeria and rainbow eucalyptus.

Go to the course web site for answer to this question. You can also book a tee time online and there may be specials. Also there is a reduced rate later in the day. You can also play 9 holes. There are 27 holes of golf and the woods course had fewer or no ocean views. The one with ocean views is the one we played.

Should be very easy to get on. You can call the course directly or use the Internet to book a package that includes other courses. I'd pass on Kauai Lagoon as the greens, when we there were poor. Princeville and Poipu Bay are fantastic.
And the restaurant at Princeville is vg with great service and fantastic views.
