    Don’t miss this !!
Awesome experience to watch this blow hole. We went after sunset but still awesome and no crowds!! Would definitely recommend this. Could sit and watch it for hours. Nice photo shoots.

    cool to see
Fun to see! It’s a pretty quick and easy stop. Easy parking, walk up to fenced off ledge, and it’s right below. Not much else to do there-but I’d definitely recommend seeing it at least once.

Stop here and relax a few minutes...or (even better) longer
Located not too far from Poipu Beach (which is a must visit), it is worth a short drive to experience this work of nature. You can spend just a few minutes here and feel like you have taken in the entire experience or spend longer if you like and watch (and listen) the the various rhythms and patterns of sound and spray. We stopped by here twice - the first visit in the afternoon when it was a bit crowded but the second visit was earlier in the morning and we were the only people here for quite some time. Experienced with few others around, the sounds of Spouting Horn are quite relaxing.

    A short photo op stop
Spouting Horn is worth a stop if you are in that area of the island on a drive. I wouldn't say it was worth going out of your way to find, unless you had never seen a spouting horn before. It is a quick stop to take some photos and then to carry on with your day.

Fun to see the water "spouting" through the hole!
Fun to see the "spouting" as the waves roll in and come through the lava tube hole!! The larger of the two spout holes didn't seem to have much action, but the smaller one certainly did, and it was great to see! What was almost as much fun on the grounds there was seeing a mama chicken with her 9 or 10 tiny puffs of chicks teaching her babies how to root in the dirt for bugs or whatever they found to eat!

    A wonderful sight to see!
If you have someone with mobility issues in your group, this is a safe bet. It's very easy to get to where you see the spouts. You enter through a park and there is a paved walk way to get to the fence. It's a wonderful sight to see. It's also free and you can't beat that.

    Nature puts on a show!
Made a quick stop to visit the Spouting Horn blowhole. It is a visual and auditory delight. The legend speaks of a giant lizard guarding the bay that was tricked by a young man to swim through the lava tube where he got stuck. They say you hear the lizard breathing... and it really does sound like it!

    Blow holes and turtles
If you are in the area, do stop and check out Mother Nature showing off. There is the main Spouting Horn which in the afternoon was very active and to the right of it there are a number of smaller ones. If you are lucky you will see turtles swimming in the waves. It is really pretty, but can be busy with tourists. Just around the corner is Poipo Bay which has turtles to check out so easy to do both.

    A sight to see!
Spouting horn was really neat to see. It is amazing how the water rushes out and up into the air so consistently. If you get lucky you will sometimes spot sea turtles as well. There was plenty of free parking. It has easy access to the sight which is a fenced observation area. There is also a restroom area as well.

    Briefly entertaining!
It was briefly entertaining for us as a couple, but could see how children would be more excited by the sight and sounds of the Spouting Horn. When we stopped there were several people at the overlook so we had to wait a bit to be able to get the best view. I wouldn't recommend driving out of your way for this one but it's worth stopping if you're nearby.

Spouting Horn is delightful for a quick stop. Love beautiful gardens? A guided tour of nearby Allerton Gardens in Kauai’s National Tropical Botanical Garden should be very highly considered by nature lovers – we loved it! Your admittance fee helps them preserve endangered trees and plants helping them take a slow march back from the edge of extension. We felt the tour was interesting and well worth the price - knowing it goes to a very good cause makes it even better. Movie lovers will also like the many nature scenes of movies and TV series filmed here.

This is a cool thing to watch for a bit and was fun for us because we were trapped inside for two days and ready to see ANYTHING. One thing that does set this apart is not just the blowhole but the artists market by it. I got some very pretty jewelry there.

Good thing was it was free. The spout varied by the size of the surf. The sound it made was what I was really impressed by. There is a legend of there being a giant lizard and it really did make a crazy sound. There were also some merchants set up that i had to visit twice!

Cool spot but you really only need a few minutes there. Vantage point is from a high spot protected by a chain link fence. I wish we could have visited from a lower and closer viewpoint.
Hopefully no tour buses are there when you check it out. They drop 40 people off who take up the entire fence line.

This is a nice quick stop. The water spouts are interesting and remind me of seeing whale spouts. I enjoyed seeing the rainbows that the spouting made. There are some shops/stands nearby that have some pretty interesting finds and souvenirs.

We could spend hours here.. it’s truly magical watching the waves come in, the spouting horn putting on a great show.. the vibrant colors of the water and surroundings are so perfect. Only critique would be that the grounds in the park and bathroom are not well-kept, dirty.

WE had heard of the stop. Saw the sign on the main road, and followed our noses. Plved parking lot in a residential neighbourhood. Public flush toilets available. Craft and market stalls on-site. Sign - 'Do not feed chickens or feral cats '

What happened to all the great vendors? Of course the blow hole is still there and it’s terrific but after about 5 minutes, you’ve seen it all. The vendors were so much fun, friendly to visitors and had good prices on everything from a surfboard key chain to a Niihau lei. Sad to see they are gone, and wonder where they went and Why.

On the ocean across the street from the Allerton McBryde National Tropical Botanical Gardens Visitor Gardens is Spouting Horn. This is a delightful geographical feature worth a visit. Stay at least 15 minutes as sometimes it takes a few minutes for the larger ocean swells to build up to an exciting 30 to 50 foot high spout of water from the ancient lava tube. It is accompanied by an eerie moan due to the incoming water. We visited this site on a Kauai Soul Travel tour of the west side of the island where our tour guide explained the spout and sound by sharing the Hawaiian story of Liko and the giant lizard.
About six vendors are on site, free parking, restrooms on site. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area or in Poipu.

We visited spouting horn while on a van tour, and I was surprised to hear it is one of the 2 most popular attractions on the island. But it's completely free, so that kind of makes sense. It's impressive to see and hear, and you don't have to wait long. It happens with every wave that comes in. We actually saw it twice. The 2nd time while coming back from a garden tour, when some back weather was starting to kick up. Got to admit.....it was much more impressive in bad weather when the wind & swells were larger.
