Beware there is a young woman that politely offers you a sample product. Then invites you into the store to try some beauty creams. Then she tells you the item she it testing on you costs $1,400.00. Then when she says she can help you with the price if it’s an issue? Oh it’s an issue alright. She drops the price to $500.00 if you buy it today. It’s a total SCAM. Please beware of this type of predatory SCAM operation. The rest of the shopping center is wonderful and I’ve been coming here for years.

You'll find everything from Starbucks to Whalers Village (convenience store) to restaurants and shopping here. The complex itself is a bit worn and could use a coat of paint and some better maintained foliage though.

We have bought a bit of everything here:
- coffee, chocolate, wine, Hawaiian salt, Kauai kombucha
- souvenirs for both adults and kids (there's a super kids store here)
- beach wear
- have gone out for dinner

One of the gals working at Whalers Village was very friendly - little things like that go a long ways! We've been to Poipu twice and this complex is a pleasure.

The Poipu Shopping Village seemed like a nice place to browse and shop.....until we went to Elephant Walk. The elderly counter lady told my wife (who is hard of hearing) that she was "disrespectful" because my wife did not hear the clerk say that several shirt sizes were out of stock. When my wife asked if the shirt she had selected (and planned to buy) would shrink the clerk snatched it back and threw it back onto the rack. Needless to say the planned purchase never happened.

Are the other shop-keepers and restauranteurs in the Poipu Shopping Village like her? Her store should be avoided. I told our group of 100+ people to avoid this the Poipu bad Shopping Village and especially Elephant Walk!

yeah, it's a cute little town with shops. We almost got our car broken into. Luckily, my husband and I are pretty aware and observant and thwarted the break-in before it happened. Two young girls, early twenties, in a Hyundai. Be aware!

This was a cute little shopping center. It had a few nicer, more upscale clothing boutiques that weren't completely crammed with touristy crap (although there were some of those stores, too). For nice T-shirt souvenirs, check out Crazy Shirts. They have a punch-card program, buy so many shirts, get one free kind of thing. AND their shirt designs are a little more imaginiative than most, and made with better quality cotton.

There are several dining options here, and my recommendation is Keoki's Paradise. Keoki's isn't in the shopping center proper, but it's adjacent to it in the same parking lot. Nice casual dining, great fresh fish and you can get a decent steak, too.

This village has some great shops and restaurants. The shops offer great variety from specialist gift shops to a small supermarket style shop that sells everything from groceries to souvenirs. The small supermarket is the only place we can buy Maui Pineapple sparking wine apart from specialist wine shops. Crazy Shirts is also based here and has such good quality t shirts that last for years. The staff in this store are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Thus is a great place to shop as well as eat. Do not recommend eating at Roys the restaurant us hot and stuffy. Best to go to Keokis or a Tropical Burgers. There is Aldo a starbucks here as well as an ice cream shop. They also do hula dancing certain evenings at 5pm.

I was only in Kauai for 6 days during my last trip, but came here at least 3 times. Why visit?

- It's totally walkable from many of the resorts (including the Sheraton where I stayed)

- Sand People: a very cute store that is a nice respite from all the other big cheesy chain stores; highlights include great picture frames and fun vintage Hawaii signs

- Whaler's Village: pretty much the same thing as an ABC store - maybe a bit nicer; great to pick up stuff you may have forgotten to pack...

- Puka Dogs: just trust me

- Keoki's Paradise: great place for dinner (be sure to make a reservation)

- Starbucks: need I say more?

There's also an Activities desk there where you can book various excursions. We compared the price of a Na Pali cost tour between this Activities desk and the one at our hotel, and they were the same price, so you probably aren't necessarily going to get a better price here (..... which is why after I got all the info I booked online - sorry - I really wanted to not pay $20 more than I needed to...).

If you're in Poipu, you'll probably end up here. :) OH, and the only bathroom we could find was in Starbucks...

Across from the Starbucks at the Poipu Shopping Village is a little shop that advertises excursions on a placard outside their office, ziplining, kayaking, cruises, etc. After shopping in the Village, my brother-in-law and I returned to inquire about excursions for our group of 8. Since we had booked all our excursions through a similar shop the year before we decided to use this place since it was very close to where we were staying. We approached the man working there but were told very rudely that he didn't have time to assist us (we were the only ones there and he was "busy" writing on a whiteboard). But he said, if we wanted to buy a time share then he might be able to help us out. I don't own a business, but I think that if you advertise a product or service than it might be a good idea to actually do that.
P.S. My father did end up buying a time share...but not from them.

This shopping village is on the small side with plenty restaurants. It is really crowded at night and parking can be a problem( was not able to park one evening).

The Polynesian Show on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm is nice, but be aware that it is very sensual. The dance skills are very good, but the music is not live and most of the dances are Tahitian, not Hawaiian.
