Nice views, not too challenging. Good activity to do with the family. Easy to drive to from the north coast, which is where we stayed. North coast was rainy but the south coast was beautiful and sunny. in retrospect we should have stayed in the...More

We started our hike just after sunrise at Poipu Beach. We walked down the boardwalk, through the neighborhood, then joined the trail at a condo resort. We followed the trail to Mahaulepu Beach, about 3.5 miles. The trail hugs the coast, is well-defined and relatively...More

This is a marvelous hike along the coast. Lots to stop and see along the trail. Make sure to bring water and snacks and wear good sunscreen. We love watching for whales during whale season and on off season gawking at turtles and shorebirds.

First of all, any trail that starts at a beach is a win in my book. You can enter the trail from shipwreck beach, at the clearing in the trees near the cliff. The trail is 2 miles long but you can get great views...More

The trail is easy and has spectacular views!! Definitely must do this hike!! We actually did the hike twice because it was so pretty and we were trying to avoid the rain that was all over the rest of the island.

Winter or Summer this is your sunshine walk or hiking trail. If tired of rain/fog/mist in the high country give your day a break. Google Shipwreck Bay, park in the beach lot, determine your time to spend, put on your sunscreen, water in your sack...More

This trail, right along the water, offers the most spectacular views. It can take a few hours if starting at Shipwreck beach but can also be done in sections if you're willing to drive a bit further down a rough, gravel road. Part of it...More

This is a fairly easy hike, but not well marked. You can take different pathways along the cliffside, and won’t get lost, but you’re left looking for footprints of other hikers in the sand to know you’re on the right track... Only real signage is...More

Also called the heritage trail, this starts at ship wreck beach on the southern coast of Kauai and continues along jagged cliffs ending at another long and isolated beach. The only thing required is 2-3 hours and some good sturdy shoes-no flip flops or open...More

You can start this shoreline trail near the Hyatt and walk north over the lithified sand cliffs and along the edge of the golf course. Alternatively, you can drive past the golf course and park near the horse stables. It’s a short walk from there...More

1 HOUR - 1-1/2 HOURS IS ABOUT RIGHT - take your time to enjoy, BE SURE to bring water. It is mostly in the sun.

It is about 2 miles each way and should take a few hours. A good chunk of it is just walking on the beach. Nothing strenuous and good for all levels.
