Kauai Ultimate Off-Road Ranch Tour

459 reviews
Go off-roading in Kauai on a 4x4 tour of Kipu Ranch, a historic landscape of mountains, valleys, and the secluded Kipu Kai beach. Get a lesson in driving a 4WD vehicle, or ride as a passenger if you prefer. Follow a guide to reach hidden and remote parts of the private ranch you’ll recognize from movies like Jurassic Park and The Descendants, stopping to take photos at each spot.

Do this at least once every year. With CORVID-19 we were looking for "safe distance" activities and this fit the bill. Beautiful and free!

Pretty easy trial with quite a few incredible views from up high and visits back to the water down below. Parking near the Grand Hyatt is available and we hiked all the way down to Shipwreck Beach. Took lots of photos and spent some time just enjoying the views. Some steep drop offs so if traveling with smaller kids you’ll need to be in high alert or have them in a carrier. No stroller would survive this hike.

This trail goes by ship wreck beach and then on further. You go by some cliffs with the waves baning against them. Look back and you have a great view of ship wreck beach

Some of the reviews will say this trail is easy to moderate. If you have done any hiking at all, you would not call this moderate. The hardest part would be maneuvering around a few boulders or rocks. The views are spectacular. The golf course (Poipu Bay) is very nice (and hard if you play when there are tradewinds). all in all, it was a nice hike, but it was not as challenging as Waimea Canyon and the views are equally spectacular.
