Shippies, as known by the locals, is one of the most dangerous beaches in Poipu and is always red-flagged by the Hyatt. It is just west of the Hyatt property and sits on a stretch of white sand. The locals are adept at surfing its...More

Another gorgeous place to spend a few hours. The view of the cliff and the big waves make this a lovely place! Two of the four in the group body surfed while the others played in the fierce waves with more caution. Will return someday....More

Love this beach; waves were a little rough today, but it is a beautiful place to explore and enjoy. A great place to watch surfers!

This was one of our favorite go-to beaches during our vacation. Not great for swimming unless you like being tossed around in the waves! That said, it was fine to wade out in a bit. The views from this beach were phenomenal and it was...More

Great little beach, but don't miss the hike up the cliff to the left of the beach. Minimal effort for a MAGNIFICENT VIEW!!

Right at the edge of the Grand Hyatt this beach is beautiful and you can hike out along the coast from here. Beautiful place!

This is a nice beach to sit on and watch the ocean. The waves were pretty high so we didn't venture into the water. It was a nice walk from our resort so we came here a couple of times.

Enjoyed this beach so much we decided to make this our wedding spot for 8/2/2018. Beach is awesome, surf has shallow breaks, hiking is awesome (start of Heritage Trail). Restrooms are clean enough and rinse off areas are nice.

Great beach for walking and laying around but be careful in the water, there are lots of rocks that will roll around and hit you.

This was a great beach to watch the sunset, walk the cliff area, and watch local surfers. Swimming is not recommended here as the water is quite rough and there is no life guard.

Agree. Poipu Beach. Keep in mind the currents do change so ask the life guards for safety information. It's usually posted but the lifeguards are so open to communicating information.

Drive past the Hyatt and take the road to the right between the Hyatt and the golf course. Shipwreck Beach parking lot is at the end.

I'm sorry I can't help you. We went as a hiking group from Vancouver Island and were self directed. I didn't notice any guided groups of hikers.
