Go off-roading in Kauai on a 4x4 tour of Kipu Ranch, a historic landscape of mountains, valleys, and the secluded Kipu Kai beach. Follow a guide to reach hidden and remote parts of the private ranch you’ll recognize from movies like Jurassic Park and The Descendants, stopping to take photos at each spot.

This beach has a little bit of everything. It's super easy to access, has some fun waves, and if you're an adventerous type you can jump off the cliff at high tide (just make sure you know what you're doing so you don't get hurt). There's also some cool hiking trails behind the cliff that lead right up to Poipu Bay Golf Course.

Shipwreck Beach is interesting but it's a long haul to get there. You should combine a trip here with a trip to the Lanai Petrogylphs and to Old Club Lanai

This is a fun little hike to get to this beach. Fun to explore and quite pretty. Be careful not to get lost on the trail to the beach. There are several little side trails that can be confusing.

Get here early so you can park otherwise you may be walking a ways from up at the shops. The Mahaulupu trail runs by the beach. This is beach everyone from the Hyatt uses so it can be crowded.

During our most recent trip to Kauai, we rented a cabana through the Grand Hyatt that overlooked Shipwreck Beach. It was gorgeous! Watching the surfers and relaxing here is the perfect way to spend the day. It was not very crowded, and often times you will see a monk seal lounging on the beach. I definitely recommend a visit here!
