Wonderful snorkeling for all abilities. Great variety of fish and warm water. Take an underwater camera if you can.

Bathrooms were a step above a sani-can, but the beach was pretty and provided safe swimming for all ages. The park was clean and family friendly--pretty busy on a Saturday, but that's no surprise. This would be a pleasant picnic/BBQ spot with lots of shade and green grass. We parked fairly close across Poipu Rd.

The park has lots of picnic tables often used by large groups and family events! There are change rooms for the beach Lifeguards use watercraft to patrol the beach. There is a local convenience store across the road for snacks and drinks.

We left the high surf of the north shore to try our luck with the south shore beaches. The Poipu Beach was where we landed. Since we were visiting Kauai in late January, there were few school-aged children and the beach in general was not crowded. Most of the parents of little children were down at the East end of... Has everything that most families would want at a beach. Nice combo of sun and shade. Good for picnic, too.

Stopped by later in the day because it was one of the few spots we'd never really checked out on previous trips. Stopped at a surf shop across the street, when we came out there was a bit of a commotion at the beach. When we walked over there was a momma seal playing with her pup in the kiddie... More

Poipu Beach is good for the novice snorkeler. There is a short reef about 5 feet from the beach with easy access. Grass to sit and relax if you don't want to sit on the sand. Outdoor shower to rinse off. Beautiful beach and great location.

Small beach but great spot. Free parking. Some of the best snorkeling on the island. When I was here we saw a nice variety of fish, large and small, two sea turtles, and a Hawaiian Monk Seal. I has a nice grassy area and public facilities. Easy to get to. Worth a stop.

This beach is great for snorkeling and sunbathers both. Showers and restrooms are always a plus as well. Enjoy!! I can't wait to be back!
