Great beach, lots of parking and easily accessible. Very little shade so it gets hot so bring a parasol for the hottest part of the day. Hawaiian monk seals come up the beach to rest and you are able to take photos from a sensible distance. There were three resting when we arrived and we were lucky to see a... More

The beach is somewhat protected to provide for some swimming opportunities for the family. This is a life guarded beach and there are bathrooms available.

This is a great family beach with the shallow, protected area for young ones or anyone that just wants to soak in the ocean!! Our kids were baptized here in 2000.

Good beach for swimming, and lots of people snorkel, though I didn't see much besides a few fish underwater. Lots of families spend the day here. There are picnic shelters, which are helpful during one of the many afternoon showers. Every day we visited, the seals were out on the beach, which was really cool. It was a nice place... More

Great beach for everyone! Gentle swim area for babies, protected snorkeling, tide pools for exploring, and surfing if that's your thing all in one spot! You can grab snacks across the street if you don't have your own and there is plenty of parking. We enjoyed going early in the morning and late afternoon to avoid the crowds. Saw several... More

This has to be one of the most special beaches. It was so amazing to see a pair of Monk Seals sleeping on the beach. Attendants were there, watching, surrounding the seals. Tourists do behave badly looking for that "Special" photo op, like sitting on the back of Green Turtle. It is for this reason that volunteers stand around and... More

We stayed a few days at a vacation rental near Poipu and enjoyed it. There were lots of families, but it's a large beach and there was still plenty of space. There is good snorkeling near the rocky areas of the beach.

This beach is very popular and close to town. Be careful, as parts of it have lots of rocks. Good for families and easy to walk to.

This is a very nice park area especially for families. There is a picnic area as well. We even saw a beached monk seal! Sunset here is just beautiful!
