The Hawaii Alive Luau Show is an outstanding show that brings you a unique and authentic Polynesian cultural experience through live traditional chants, music, drumming and dancing from the islands of Hawaii, Tahiti and Samoa. The show is located within the Marriott's enchanting tropical gardens and includes live music, an interactive host, traditional and modern hula, ancient chants, a chance to learn the hula yourself, Tahitian dancing, and the thrilling Samoan fire knife. We also offer optional private dining prior to the show, which you can enjoy with just your family or guests in the open air at the Kaua'i Marriott's Kukui oceanfront restaurant.

Set in the lush, tropical setting of the Lihue Marriott, Wallis Punua's Hawaii Alive (every Monday) gives the audience what they came for, a taste of traditional Hawaiian music and dance. It's a great 90 minute show that Wallis has put together, featuring friends and family. His son Marcus and his niece are part of the dance troupe. Wallis is... More

My husband and I brought our daughter, son in law and grandkids to this luau. Our 6 yr old and 9 yr old granddaughters had never been to a luau so this was perfect. We attended the show only and had front row seats. The girls were mesmerized by all the dances, costumes and FIRE dancers! The 9 yr old... More

Didn't have any hopes/expectations, since this was our first luau. Dinner and show were in two different locations within the Marriott. Dinner, which included a free Mai-Tai, was quite delicious. We enjoyed outdoor dining near a LARGE pool area, which also offered views of Nawiliwili Bay. Our sever, Michael, was VERY personable and seemed to be a motivated individual. Waiting... More

This is a good luau and the show is exceptional. The free Mai tais are also a plus. Not you everyday luau.

We had asked at the concierge desk what the best authentic luau was here on the island and they stated that Hawaii Alive by far was. So we quickly booked. The food was not a luau but dinner at the Kukui's. I would have liked to have chosen off the menu but rather they bring you a Mai Tai, and... More

This was a perfect showcase for the cultural dances of Hawaii. The hula dancers were great, with narration for each change. There were flame dancers, young people and the audience participation was fun without being too much pressure to join in. It was my husband, Keenans, birthday and the narrator made an effort to make him feel special. This show is... More

This luau was not what we expected. To begin with the dinner part was a sit down affair in the Marriott restaurant near the pool and beach. Nice view but lots going on and somewhat noisy. Not necessarily bad, just be prepared for such. The food was fair, and not anywhere near as good as other luaus we've tried, but... More

This is a wonderful show through the different islands of Hawai'i and Polynesia! The buildup from the music to each dances was exciting. The show was also perfectly timed, it did not drag on like many shows in Kauai. Wallis Punua also had great, fun and appreciative energy to round out the whole experience. It was also interactive and fun... More

It was an unbelievable night! First, the dinner was amazing! Much more than we expected. Then the show was spectacular! We really leaned a lot about the history of Hawaii while enjoying amazing dancing. Such a great family tradition with this Luau. Wallis was so helpful and put on the amazing show. I always use trip advisor when going to... More

First off, this is not a luau in the true meaning of the word. This is a separate dinner, if chosen, and then music and dancing. We were informed by the nice young man at Kauai Tours orientation that we should not expect a luau but rather the history of Hawaii as explained in interpretive dance. This caught our attention...
