My favorite beach

I visited several beaches in Kauai and this one is still my favorite. Clean and scenic, not overcrowded.

Surf, stand up paddle board, or just for a stroll, this is a good all around beach. Breaking waves can be a bit rough for children and supervision would be a good idea. We always see joggers, frisbee playing and volleyball being played. This beach fronts the Marriot, but I'd open to the public and the allow you to use their... More

Beautiful beach and good swimming. Lots of surfers and paddle boarders. The best was watching cruise ships coming in.

We enjoy this area as it has a nice swimming beach and a lawn area too. They also have beach rentals there too. There is shade and sun so whichever you chose it is there. There is also an outdoor bar and restaurant at the Marriott and if you walk down the beach there is also a Duke's restaurant and... More

Kalapaki is a nice beach for a family visit. The waves are small and it isn't too crowded. The snorkeling isn't great because the water is a bit cloudy from the river running out at the end of the beach, but the water is warm and calm so the swimming is good. There are a few restaurants right off the... More

Kalapaki Beach in the town of Lihue is a great find. The beach is large, clean and sheltered. There are beach sport rentals of every kind available at reasonable prices. We only tried a couple of food places but they were fine. An overall great experience.

The bay offers many options. There is a surf shop to rent boogie board or paddle/surf board, or take lessons. While there is a riptide, there are parts of the bay that have a wave to learn to surf and other parts that are quiet. Sandy beach is very nice but because its on a resort there is a grassy... More

We visited many beaches during our trip around the Hawaiian Islands but Kalapaki Beach is our favourite. It was wonderful to swim in with a sandy bottom and with facilities such a eateries and other shops near.

Kalapaki is a favorite with locals. You will always find families gathering there and sharing aloha. Nice sandy button and you can walk right into the water. Parking can be a problem on weekends, but you may have to walk a bit, but can always find a place.
