This is the perfect family beach, especially for young kids! It is a crescent shaped beach with calm waters. Several hotels nearby but it is Duke's restaurant (food is touristy but Delish) that is nearby and it is perfect for parents who can sit outside, enjoy a meal, while watching their kids play in the water.

There are a few really good things about Kalapaki Beach. First being a nice crescent shaped beach. Second is that is fairly protected from very rough waters, but still good enough for swimming, surfing and boogie boarding. Third it is very close to amenities, like Duke's or the shopping centers that are right there. A good place to have a... More

Great place to surf and grab a drink/food at Duke's near by. The surf shop is decently priced. Better surf for regular foot forward surfers.

Shares high priced commercialization along with local rustic appeal. Nice opportunity to have cafe locations near the beach, and a good place for surfing lessons. Have fun with a catamaran ride as well!

This beach is beautiful and is pretty calm so it is great for children. My son loves to build sand castles here, lots of room to dig and not bother others. Swells are small as it is in a harbor area and there is nothing to see so I wouldn't snorkel there. There is no lifeguard present. You can rent... More

While there are better beaches in Kaua'i. This is a beach in Kaua'i! Can't argue much with that. Went here as we just had an hour between events. The nice thing was its closeness to amenities. We went to grab some Fish Express & brought it to the beach to eat.

Great views with numerous bar/ restaurants and a few beach vball courts for games. Nice swim spot that is protected and relatively safe along with a nice break for surf!

This beach was within walking distance of our condo. A great area to get into the ocean. One of the few "safe swimming" beaches on Kauai.

on Kalapaki Bay, in front of the Kauai Marriot. Features a nice bottom, gentle waves. Nice beach to swim or lay on the beach. Numerous places to dine nearby.
