Wonderful beach!
Mar 2020
This is an excellent beach setting. Warm water even in the first of March. Picnic tables and trees behind the Anchor Shopping Center. Public outdoor shower and rest rooms are a great addition. Doesn't get much better than this beach area.

Close to Cruise Ship Terminal
Feb 2020
This sandy beach in a calm cove is the idyllic Hawaiian beach. Back from the beach is a wide stretch of grass for your towels. You can swim in the calm waters or try paddle boarding with the waves breaking at one end. As beaches are public there are no vendors renting chairs and umbrellas.

There are restaurants facing the beach and the Marriott Hotel.

The beach is a 10-15 minute walk from the cruise terminal or you can take the free shuttle to the Anchor Cove Shopping Center that runs continuously through the day.

Public friendly
Feb 2020
Kalapaki Beach at the Marriott Kauai Beach is very friendly for the publid to visit. The left 1/3 of the beach is available at any time for you to bring your chairs, lunch, umbrella, book and spend the day. Parking is available in the lot or on the street. The beach is receptive to all ages. The slope is not severe and usually the waves are only 1-2 feet. There are several eating establishments in the immediate vicinity for lunch or dinner that are very relaxed atmospheres. We go several times during our stays on the islands and consider it the best beach on Kauai for just about everythhing needed during a stay.

Good beach to paddle board
Feb 2020 • Family
This is a clean beach that is very walkable from civilization and has nice sand. It’s close to the cruise port and it’s right at the Marriott. There are rentals and lessons on site, so people were paddle boarding and trying other water sports. Midweek the beach was nearly empty, just a handful of people walking and probably 15-20 in the water on boards.

I find it funny that so many reviews rave about how protected the cove is. I guess it’s what you’re used to or maybe it was a rough day? When I was there I had my snorkel gear and I thought it was way too rough to attempt. I ended up only wading in and checking out the creatures along the jetty instead. The mountain view across the water is really pretty, and there is a lighthouse nearby. I was told that the jetty is the one filmed during a big storm in Jurassic Park?

Worth a Visit
Feb 2020
If you happen to be on Kauai on a cruise ship stop, Kalapaki Beach is a no-brainer for an afternoon beach fix. The beach is within easy walking distance from the ship, or there are regular shuttles that run between the pier and the ABC store located just off the beach. Even with a cruise ship in port, this beach did not feel crowded. It is a beautiful location, dominated primarily by the Marriott resort. There are bars, restaurants, and restrooms readily available. While the waters here are fairly calm, swimmers should be aware there is no lifeguard on site, and there can be moderate rip currents.

Lovely bay & sandy beach
Feb 2020 • Couples
Unlike many beaches especially along the east of Kauai it is possible to go into the sea here as the sea is sheltered by the bay. There is a Dukes restaurant here & the bay is dominated by the Marriott. There are restroom facilities & shops & restaurants nearby. Definitely worth a visit.

Good, clean beach
Jan 2020
Big hotel behind it but relatively quiet when we were there. Plenty of sand, some waves but not to big. Could get busy when the cruise ships dock.
A number of places to eat nearby, an ABC supermarket behind the beach and quite a bit of parking.
Beware of currents as always.

This is a great beach right near the cruise terminal. It wasn't crowded, the sand was clean, and the waves were big.

It's a nice beach, lots of waves.
Jan 2020
Kalapaki Beach is a nice beach, as it is the case on many islands. Lots of wind. The waves were strong. Be careful if you want to swim.
