This is a clean beach that is very walkable from civilization and has nice sand. It’s close to the cruise port and it’s right at the Marriott. There are rentals and lessons on site, so people were paddle boarding and trying other water sports. Midweek the beach was nearly empty, just a handful of people walking and probably 15-20 in the water on boards.

I find it funny that so many reviews rave about how protected the cove is. I guess it’s what you’re used to or maybe it was a rough day? When I was there I had my snorkel gear and I thought it was way too rough to attempt. I ended up only wading in and checking out the creatures along the jetty instead. The mountain view across the water is really pretty, and there is a lighthouse nearby. I was told that the jetty is the one filmed during a big storm in Jurassic Park?

Kalapaki Beach is a great place to go either flying in or out of Lihue. Many times friends don’t have the same itinerary, either arriving or leaving before or after others. This is the best place to hang out when waiting for flights. It’s super close to the airport, one could almost walk to a runway (not recommending it). Kukuis is right there too, a good place to grab a drink and some food if you’re hungry. There is also Duke’s close by, another restaurant, although I’ve never been there.

Kalapaki Beach at the Marriott Kauai Beach is very friendly for the publid to visit. The left 1/3 of the beach is available at any time for you to bring your chairs, lunch, umbrella, book and spend the day. Parking is available in the lot or on the street. The beach is receptive to all ages. The slope is not severe and usually the waves are only 1-2 feet. There are several eating establishments in the immediate vicinity for lunch or dinner that are very relaxed atmospheres. We go several times during our stays on the islands and consider it the best beach on Kauai for just about everythhing needed during a stay.

Fell in love with this amazing beach in Kauai! The views of the mountains, sunset cruises, and people-watching were just perfect. The beach is clean, the waves are incredible, and watching local surfers at sunset was a highlight. Even though we stayed at a different resort, the Marriott has beach access, plenty of parking, and a restroom within walking distance. It's the perfect slice of paradise! 🌴🌅

Unlike many beaches especially along the east of Kauai it is possible to go into the sea here as the sea is sheltered by the bay. There is a Dukes restaurant here & the bay is dominated by the Marriott. There are restroom facilities & shops & restaurants nearby. Definitely worth a visit.

Great time, came here while staying at the Royal Sonesta🤪
Me n the Fam came down to cool off, oh boy…😁 Amazing!!!!🤩
Just amazing!
Came down here with Sarah my twin sister n her kids too. Had fun!🤪
Waves are HUGE! Saw one up to 4feet!
Kid-friendly still, my Daughter sunshine…
She could still float around with her life jacket while the huge waves passed.🌊
However, they should make the restroom closer, or add more stalls.Hunny n 3 of the kids ran into an incident!🤪
Hunny had to pee n ended up walking all the long way over just to have no stalls available, Hunny ended up going in his swim shorts…

Paxton… Was debating on getting into his swimsuit or not n had to pee… 🤣
He decided to wait and play with his cousins. And then get into his swim shorts and go into the water. However, in the middle of playing on the little concrete area…. He said he had to go urgently.🤪
His cousin Ashton, who is turning 9 this year… Walked him over. Him n Paxton ended up not finding the restroom n Paxton was still not in swim clothes… Went back up to the room quickly n he decided to pee there. Right after the elevator we got into our room, 🤯 BOOM!
Paxton could no longer hold it, he couldn’t walk any farther down the hall into our room. Every step would leak some Pee!🙈🙈🙈🙈 Finally ran in, however it was too late as his jean shorts were already soaked.

The other kids, my eldest son Parker was swimming in the ocean n had to Pee aswell! he ended up going on a tree in front of a whole bunch of people!🤪🙈

Oh boy!🤪🤪
What an adventure!

Beautiful, quiet, well-kept beach with resorts, bars, and restaurants attached. Surf good for novice surfers and families. Highly recommend getting there and leaving early-shade is a premium. Sea turtle every day. Great beach.

This is an excellent beach setting. Warm water even in the first of March. Picnic tables and trees behind the Anchor Shopping Center. Public outdoor shower and rest rooms are a great addition. Doesn't get much better than this beach area.

While exploring Kauai during our cruise stop, we spent time at Kalapaki Beach not one, but twice! Nice sandy area, near shops, restaurants and a large hotel. There is an area off to the right where you can paddleboard, snorkel, and surf. Rent some beach equipment and chairs at the tiny shop before the beach for a more comfortable visit.

The day we visited, the water was murky and it seemed an unattractive place to jump in. It’s a harbor, not an open ocean stretch of beach. The Marriott property has this weird out of place Thailand theme going on. Just not my cup of tea. We had considered spending a few nights here, but glad we didn’t.
