We signed up for a 1 hour doors off adventure on a very small helicopter to get the thrill of sitting on the edge with nothing between us but air and land. We also didn't want glare for our pictures. My husband got that experience,...More

We took the 1 hour doors off tour and it was awesome! The staff were very friendly at check in and informative as to what to expect. You do have a weigh in at the office. This helps them assure they are not overloaded and...More

This was my second visit to Kauai. I came by myself this time. A helicopter tour was #1 on my list as I missed out last time. I booked the doors off tour because I'd heard it was worth the extra $. I am unbelievably...More

I'll start by saying I have an intense fear of heights and did NOT want to do a helo tour. My husband, however, was so excited about the opportunity to see the island that I just couldn't say no...and I'm so happy I went along...More

We know many are afraid of helicopters and some think they are not environmentally "correct", but given that Kauai's interior is quite inaccessible (unless you have days/weeks and the fitness/ stamina to devote to hiking the interior and even then much is inaccessible), a helicopter...More

What is the best GO PRO video setting for an open door helicopter ride? I have the go pro hero 5 and will be going on a 60-min open door helicopter tour in Kauai next week. Based on my limited research, I heard 2.7k at 60fps with a wide view would be best so I can have image stabilization and get great crispness in the video.

Did your daughter take something for her motion sickness before the helicopter ride? How bumpy it is it? It sounds like great fun, but I did have some trouble on a bush plane ride once before. I don't want to be miserable for an hour. Thanks for your help
