We really enjoyed this show. The dancers and performers were amazing! I would recommend paying for the premium seats for a better view as the venue is pretty big and spread out (it seems as if it might be difficult to see from the outer tables). We also thought the food was pretty good for a buffet, and the drinks were delicious. We enjoyed shopping at the artists/vendors booths before the show, and the live band that played throughout dinner was very good. All in all would recommend! One note: the sound-system needs upgrading as it is a little difficult to hear some of the dialog during the show.

Our small family of three purchased the Founders Dinner package for our Luau Kalamaku visit in August. This package includes a chef's meal at Gaylord's Restaurant - which is on the same property as Luau Kalamaku - followed by reserved front row seating at the Luau show presentation. We are happy with our overall experience, and our teen daughter especially loved the Luau presentation. The setting is beautiful, we were treated wonderfully by all of the restaurant and Luau staff, and the Luau is presented with Aloha. Surprisingly, the one item we did not enjoy was the fish served at the restaurant meal, which we found very dry. Our server warmly replaced the initial fish with a fresh serving, but unfortunately the freshly replaced fish was also dry. We suspect the fish is cooked to 'well' to meet safety standards, but there was no moisture in the fish meat. Aside from our one minor preference, Luau Kalamaku is a wonderful experience regardless of meal or seating choice due to its excellent design, management and presenters.

We enjoyed attending the Luau Kalamaku in Kauai with our whole family. Everyone was warm and friendly. Highly recommend the train ride that happens right before the show to see the entire area via guided tour. I wish we came a little earlier to check out the market and shops they had on site. It was also a little chilly so FYI to bring a jacket (especially in the "colder" months).

The reservation team was excellent to work with--highly recommend booking with them directly! They're very responsive and helpful! Food was great, though I wish they had more vegetarian options as most of my family is vegetarian.

I was extremely disappointed in this luau. It was recommended by my resort hotel concierge. Come to think of it. They probably work together to get customer referrals. It was extremely over priced for what you get, they don’t even let you select your seats or upgrade them. It’s was $180 a person, you can’t see anything, hear anything, look like they’ll accommodate the people who come off the cruise ship over anyone else. When I ask if I can pay to upgrade my seats I was told no. The empty seats up front are for their PO? Don’t even know what that mean.. their manager or boss to sit and observe is how they explained it. I have never walk out of a luau before, I’ve been on every Hawaii island and I loved every one of the luau except this one. I was with 4 other guests on a business trip and it was their first time. Very embarrassing. Never again

I swear the try to pack in as many people as possible give you free Mai-Tai’s for an hour hoping you don’t realize what a horrible experience it is. We were sat with our backs to the stage and with people we did not know. It wouldn’t have been bad except for the fact they had already ate the salad and bread and looked at us like we were aliens from another planet. We asked to be seated at one of the several open tables in front of our table so we could at least see the show. Was told a manager would be by to see if they could accommodate the request. Next thing you know we were shuffled away to the buffet line that consisted of rice, noodles, mushy fish and dried pork. The show was mediocre and did not feel authentic at all! Again felt like they try to cram as many people in to make as much money as possible. Save your money take the Rum Safari instead.

The show and the performance was fantastic. The food could be a bit better. Nothing on our plates were outstanding to rave about. The train ride was fun. Having been in this area before, we knew how big it was. So, we paid for premium seating to get a good seat for the show (highly recommended)

This was an amazing experience! Everything from start to finish was great, from the welcoming glass of champagne and beautiful fresh flower lei to the front row table at the Luau performance. The food at Gaylord's was delicious and will not disappoint even a self-proclaimed food snob, like myself. The Mai-Tai was the best I have ever had, it is a must, if you visit.
The performance was fantastic, the performers became the part they were playing. The emotional and physical demands of each player was real and apparent as you were drawn into the experience by their facial expressions.
We do not know what the experience was like for those with general admission, however, we believe the extra expense for the Plantation Owner's package was well worth it.

Oh my goodness!!!! What a great luau! I have probably been to about 15 luaus and this one was the best! You walk up to hear a man playing Hawaiian songs as you get your tickets. Then you are greeted with a lei for women and a shell lei for men. Next, you take a family picture that is a great value for $26.00. The photographer checks every picture to make sure everyone looks good. You have an open bar with Mai Tais, Blue Hawaiian, or local beers. They serve a salad at the table, a dinner buffet where you are served, and three delicious desserts that are served at the table. Also, cute shops are open so you can shop the local artists. The dinner was fantastic, but the show …. AMAZING!!! You will not be disappointed, book your tickets now!

My husband and I loved the show! It was an interesting story. The fire dancers were especially captivating. The food was good. The drinks were good. The staff did a great job seating attendees as well as ensuring the food line moved quickly. Great event!

The luau was so fun! My husband and I went this last week on our honeymoon, we aren’t really live entertainment people but liked the fact that dinner would be provided while we dipped more into learning about the culture. Reading some reviews, I was nervous it would be a bust but this was a great evening! We arrived by 445 so that we wouldn’t have to wait in a long line to check in. The craft vendors were all local and so sweet! It was fun to walk around the fair after walking in. A great open bar from 5-715! Hawaiian cocktails, beer, and wine! There was live music, hula dancing, the pig roasting ceremony and then it opened up to dinner. Dinner was GOOD and plentiful! The pork was fantastic, my husband said the fish was meh but that could be expected at a buffet. There were vegetarian and other meat options as well. The dessert was OK too! The entertainment was easy to follow and was fun and intriguing! The flame thrower was awesome! I haven’t been to other luaus on the island so I cannot compare but this was an experience we don’t regret!
