Closing By the End of the Year
Aug 2018 • Couples
I have been coming to Pohaku T’s for years . There designs are unique and their shirts are a quality product. When I went today I told the owner that I wasn’t going to buy anything because the shirts never wear out.

However when he told me they were planning on retiring and closing up before the end of the tear I ended up buying four more shirts.

After20 years Koloa will not be the same without Pohaku T’s ☹️😎.

THE Best And Most Unique Hawaiian Shirts on Kauai
Apr 2018 • Couples
I’ve been coming here for years and every time I’m back I’m delighted to revisit this store, see Carole, and purchase one or two of their truly unique Hawaiian shirts, especially the ones all locally designed by her husband. Whether it’s a T-shirt or an aloha shirt they are not sold anywhere else, and they are NOT a chain (like red dirt shirts, which are not unique to Kauai). This trip I sadly learned that the owners are being forced into retirement by January 2019 due to an their rent being doubled (from $3000/ month to $6000/month)! How outrageous and so sad to see this one of a kind store fade into oblivion. The corporate take-over of America has indeed hit Kauai too 😞. Hopefully, you can get there before they close out. These shirts are real treasures!

Don't miss this shop!

They only sell local made products! T shirts with better artwork, household items. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. There is convenient parking behind the store. Every time we go to Kauai - we buy here!

Great tee-shirts and other items
Mar 2018 • Friends
A large collection of tee-shirts that are different from other places on the island. Made and designed here. Have purchased many for gifts. Also have other locally made items such as purses, luggage tags etc. Very friendly owner. Always helps find what you may be interested in as far as styles etc. Probably closing by end of January 2019.

Best Shirts on the Island BY FAR and More!
Feb 2018 • Family
If you want the same mass produced, corporate crap shirts you can get everywhere on the island, go elsewhere. If you want better prices, better designs, better quality and you want to support local designers, local families and local small business then this is the ONLY place to go!

Aloha shirts, tee shirts, sweatshirts and more. All locally designed and produced. Great designs featuring real Hawaii art, history and nature. Multiple options in designs, colors and fabrics. And the prices are fantastic! High quality Hawaiian made aloha shirts for under $70?! Almost unheard of. And sadly, it's not going to make it. The very friendly and helpful owner let us know that the area is changing, the building has been bought by developers and the rent going up so much they can't stay in business for much longer. If you have taste, appreciate good design, support local small business and like a great deal, do not miss Pohaku T's!

Visit Before It's Gone!
Feb 2018 • Couples
Over the years I have made this a "must do" stop. I love that this shop showcases only items actually made on Kauai and the shirts will not be seen anywhere else. I was informed that due to a rent increase this will be the last year I will be able to take advantage of the many different goods there. I'm sad to see Pohaku T's go, but if you can be there the fall of 2018 she said she is having a BIG sale. So sad Kauai is changing so much. Go NOW before it's too late!!

Still Shirts Made in Kauai But Much More
Feb 2018 • Couples
Revisiting this large display of long women's dress ware (Hawaiian style). Also owner and wife's very different types of native designer regular shirts and tee shirts with Hawaii theme. They have a very large selection for both women and men. They also carry kauai native beautiful prints with wonderful views beaches, chickens crossing the road, sunsets, etc. of the islands. There are Hawaiian made place mats, covers for check books, fabric coasters, fabric suitcase tags, etc. Check with them, they have 2 condos they rent near sprouting horn at great low prices. There theme is old Hawaii.

Quaint store with local goods
Jun 2017 • Family
My family and I had gone to Old Koloa Town and didn't stumble across this store until our second visit because it is set apart from the main strip of stores but so glad we stopped in. We were looking for gifts that were not just regular shirts or the types of clothing we would see at the resort shops. This place has locally made clothing and crafts and we feel it is important to support the local community. We found unique t-shirts there that we had not found at any other stores. Aside from shirts we purchased aprons, decorative tiles and koa guitar picks. The prices are decent but we didn't mind so much as these are locally made goods. The shopkeeper was very friendly.

Very interesting and unusual t's
Mar 2017 • Couples
We have been to this store in the past and were looking forward to going again. They have a great collection of t's that they print and dye. Not the usual stuff you find in all the shops. Shirts with koi on them, dragonflies, and copies of ancient petroglyphs from the area. Wonderful friendly service. Shirts really last. Have had some for 12 years and they still look great! This is back a little from the main street.

Pohahu T's is local, original and not part of any chain. Not only do they feature t's they design themselves and have printed on the island, they also feature shirts and items made by about 30 other Kauai families. The products are original, well made and beautiful. Koloa Town is a great, Funky contrast to the touristy shopping centers in the Poipu area. Definitely a place to stop for food from the Koloa Deli and the Fish Market (as well as the Big Save) and the food trucks as for drinks and music from the Garden Island Grill, but also come around the corner from the main shopping area to Pokahu's and the wonderful art gallery next door.
