ATV tour was amazing! Our tour guides Austin & Ari were so informative throughout the whole experience. Austin was funny and also very comforting making sure everyone was having a good time and no one was left behind. They got into the culture and facts about the island, stopped at 3 beautiful locations, even patient with our little ones and set them up to fish! Would definitely recommend this to my friends for future vacations! Thank you for everything! Made our vacation much more memorable!

We heard deep see fishing was hit or miss. Some people loved it but other not so much so we decided to go bass fishing instead. Beautiful reservoir in the middle of beautiful country side.....nice break from sun and beach. My son is into fishing and he caught 1 tilapia, 1 large mouth bass and 3 peacock bass. The peacock bass only live in Hawaii and the back channels of Miami. Even with 5 fish, the guide apologized that we did not catch more so I guess that is considered a slow day.
Bring a rain jacket.....even if it looks like a clear day!

Gorgeous views, great stories. The stories of the Hawaiian heritage are great if not better than the actual ride…the ride is excellent by the way. The ATVs are top of the line from Polaris with plenty of horsepower if and when needed. Malakai and Mason are great guides. Avery,Tyler, Jai, and Amanda are good, too, however the double M’s take the cake!!! Mahalo

Our guides were awesome and went out of their way to make our experience really fun. We had heard from family who previously visited that this tour was highly recommended and really fun. On this tour we stopped at a beach, the tunnel and tried trout fishing. Other locals and other tour guides recommended other ATV companies, they said that management changes or disagreements with other locals have changed the itinerary, this company used to visit a waterfall or the cave and turtle sanctuary. A little disappointing.

I booked a 4 hour cave tour for 7 people. We initially drove for about 10 minutes on the ATV's and then stopped for a hike/cave tour for an hour! What? I thought the cave tour was driving through caves. The cave is open to the public and free. We also spent time with the tortoises near the cave and went to the beach. The most disappointing part was that my family went to the same cave, turtles and beach the day prior. People on our tour were not happy. It felt as though the guides were killing time. I pay to go to remote places on an ATV. Not somewhere easily accessible that I could go for free.
We then had a great ATV ride for about 25 min to a reservoir to hang out, have snacks and do a little fishing. Weather was bad so we were all freezing. Spent about an hour at the fishing spot. Then, back on the ATV's for 10 minutes or so to return for the day (30 minutes earlier than scheduled). For a four hour tour (really 3.5 hour) we spent maybe an hour on the ATV's.
The good part was they let you drive the ATV's fast!! Lots of mud. I felt bad for the guides because everyone was pretty upset about the hike and caves. One family said "can we just go ride the ATV's on the beach". Another family had an elderly person with no hiking shoes. One other family thought we were going on a waterfall hike.
This company needs to advertise the details of their ATV rides. Even though my kids ended up having fun, this was not worth the $1200!

This tour was fairly disappointing! We had planned for the tunnel and waterfall - due to land ownership changes the tour is no longer allowed to go to these places. Over a third of the "tour" was spent walking on the beach. The tour is fairly pricey and having to pay to roam the beach is fairly misleading. Of course, the company left it to our two young guides to disclose the tour no longer went to advertised attractions. The guides were kind and friendly, and it was evident they, too, were disappointed to offer the "new" tour. It's upsetting that we were not given the opportunity to cancel our trip without penalty or given a partial refund. Aside from feeling we wasted our money - also wasted half a day that could have been spent on an alternate activity. Check before you buy if they have access to anything other than dusty roads through a desolate plantation!

Aloha,
Thank you for your review. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the tour. All guests who booked the waterfall tour previously were sent emails and given confirmation calls about the opportunity to continue on the Backroads Adventure Tour or to be refunded fully prior to taking the tour. Third party advertisers are also working with us to ensure that guests are given the opportunity. If this was not the case, please feel free to contact us and discuss further.

Our tour guides were Kayden and Dusty. Kayden was really personable and great to talk to. The tour was a lot of fun and informative. It was a pain to constantly get in and out of the UTV for the tour (they make pit stops to tell you fun facts and historical background of the area) but it was all in good fun and a part of the tour. We were able to see a WWII bunker, I think that part of the tour could use more work for improvement. It was informative and great to explore, but can definitely use more ways to be more entertaining. The waterfall was a great location for our picnic. It was rainy and windy, however, so it wasn't as much fun as it could've been during the summer. Fortunately, this type of weather allowed more muddy and messy trails, which is exactly what we were looking for. On the contrary, we were stuck behind slow, cautious drivers who didn't want to get dirty. Overall, I had a great experience and glad that I booked this company for a tour. For those who are concerned, yes, there are showers to get cleaned up after the tour. They also provide complimentary shirts, shorts, panchos and have changing stalls.

Too expensive for what we got. Hoped to get muddy, wet and be zooming all over the land to a final destination of the waterfall. Nothing of the sort. ATV's broke down, rain washed out the road to the waterfall, tractor road crew asked us not to ride on roads. Told we'd get pictures and they'd email them to us, we got 4 and all too foggy to see. Spent 1.5 hours near a lake having our snack getting eaten alive by mosquito.

Just had the *best* ATV adventure on Kauai Island, exploring the iconic Jurassic Park filming locations! 🌴🚜 The experience was truly out of this world—imagine racing through the lush landscapes where the movie magic happened! 🎥🌋 I also got to learn about the island's rich history with sugar cane crops and how the locals are transitioning to planting corn for California. 🌽🌎 Such an eye-opening experience to see how they sustain their livelihoods and adapt to new opportunities. Stay tuned—I’ll be posting a video of this epic journey soon! 💕 Kylie Ruiz and mana Rice were the best !!! To be so young they live their land and were so amazing knowledgeable please only use them it’s was the best experience ever 5star !!!!

Beautiful trails, ocean views, beach, caves, feeding ducks, fishing. This was the perfect thing to do in the rain but be prepared to get dirty!! We embraced it and had so much fun! Malicay and Ariana were knowledgeable, welcoming and made sure everyone had what they needed.

Hi...your tour looks great. Did you do the 3 hour tour or the 4 hour with waterfall activity. One rider is 39 and the other is 70, so we wonder if 4 hours might be a bit much. Thanks.

We did the 3 hour tour this time. We have done the 4 hour waterfall tour in the past. I am 62 and think either tour would be fine.
