My wife and I and one of my business colleagues hiked with Katie on Moalepe Trail. She provided a great experience, great knowledge of plants and history of the area. I would highly recommend her.

We went to Kauai with our baby and our wife's family last Fall for a little relaxation. Since our baby had head control already, aside from visiting the baby friendly beaches, we wanted to do a little hike and bust out our new baby carrier. Windward Hikes was able to come up with a loop route (I despise in and outs) that took us by a river and waterfalls and that we were able to do with the baby and my wife's parents who are not the most athletic. They were very helpful and patient in assisting her parents maneuver some parts that were tricky for them and keeping us on a safe trail (it had been raining recently). After the hike they recommended a good place to grab food and some other suggestions for things to do around Kapaa, which were excellent (Java Kai!). Overall, great people, great knowledge of what the island offers, and I'd recommend for anyone wanting to do some hiking on the beautiful Garden Island.

There were only two of us on this magnificent hike, we'd shopped around and found this was the best bargain for two or more people. So, price guided our choice, along with the easy online booking. But we got so much more out of it thanks to our gracious guide Katie. She took us up mystical Sleeping Giant (had we been on our own, we wouldn't have gotten out of it what we did with her). It was the highlight of our trip to Kauai, on par with the prettiest beaches. We felt like we understood the island and its story so much better after our rejuvenating experience. Apparently Katie has recently started this tour company, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We plan to return with friends and do another hike with her. Don't miss it--treat yourselves!!

My husband and I used Katie at Windward Hikes while visiting the island on our honeymoon. We're both outdoorsy and knew we wanted to see the island, and found Windward Hikes upon a recommendation from a friend. She took us up Sleeping Giant (I think it's called Nounou). The hike varied between steeper and flatter inclines and we passed all sorts of people going up and down (kids, etc.). The view from the top was amazing and we appreciated Katie's pointing out various places below. She seems to know the island well. We got along well, enjoying her easygoing manner and helpful ideas (places to eat, good beaches). Can't wait to get back there and do another tour.

My husband and I did the Nounou hike last week. The hike was a bit challenging, but extremely rewarding. Oh the views!! Though most of the trail was relatively well marked, there were a couple places where we might have gotten lost. Katie was nice and well informed on the local history and knowledgeable about the plants that lined the trail. I would highly recommend booking this activity - a great way to spend a morning.
