Hidden Gem, first class island service, mainland rates, best of the best because they have been doing this forever.  I love this one stop beauty shop/ day spa because it's close to the beach and they take walk-ins for nail services.  Skin and massage services may require advanced booking - I'd call first.

The short:
I wouldn't waste my beach time searching for nail, skin, and massage services, when I could get them all done at one spot.  Heavy sand and water play require Shellac - they have it!  Top notch toes need top notch services - they have it.   Bonnie's skin and massage services - you aren't likely to find a better deal.  Hidden massage, sauna and shower in the back.

The long:
My cousins live in Kaua'i and know all of the good deals.  I visited the Beauty Shop with some skepticism because it doesn't look like much from the outside.  I have a nail and skin team in Marin and San Francisco, and usually won't deviate because I know enough about micro-biology not to trust just any establishment.  This place is licensed and family approved.

When we arrived at the shop, I still felt I was in Kaua'i - chill environment.  It wasn't a big buzzing establishment, but small and quiet.  At first, the shop looks like it only provides nail services - but do not be fooled by the simple looks.  Every jar, can, container and service is top of the line.

Massage, Skin, and Facials:
You couldn't tell at first, but there is a full service massage and skin service area secretly tucked in the back.  If I lived here, I would probably make a habit of the full service treatment - you can't help but sleep tight after this.  Very private, relaxing, and luxurious experience.  The most amazing part: A SAUNA for body work and skin services - brilliant!  The works/ full pamper treatment: OMG get this and you will not regret it.

Here is how it works: (1) Bonnie stimulate the lymphatic system w/ brush (2) enzyme scrubs you clean (3) hot towel wipe you clean (4) facial cleanse (5) lava clay mask - best smelling mask ever and if you find a cologne like this please let me know (6) dry or wet sauna (7) hot shower (8) massage in or out of sauna.  Depending on what you want, the whole process lasts for 2-4 hours.

The nails:
Pedi: Includes full soak, clip, shape, scrub, massage, and polish.  If you are like me and don't do spa chairs where you don't know the staff, prefer stainless steel bowls with heated rocks, and definitely do not pay salon services with just any polish - you can relax.   I inquired....

No stainless steel bowls here, but they have super sanitized spa chairs.  Bonnie explained their cleaning process to my satisfaction: they are slow enough to clean the jets in between pedi's - super score.  I also asked about no chip Shellac - they have it!!  Unlike some shops, they will do it on your toes, if that's what you want.  I mostly saw OPI - when I can't spring for Shellac, I only use OPI or Chanel - so good sign.

Mani and sets:
Full service - clip, shape, soak, buff, polish.  If you want something sassy, ask about the jewels - just a few more bucks.

Bottom line: this IS the nail and facial spot

Visited their new location behind Coconut Marketplace in Kapaa for the best pedicure ever. Jody and Laura do a fantastic job exfoliating and polishing. Can not recommend them enough.

Every time is consistently relaxing, rejuvenating and a peaceful place to get my toes and hands expertly manicured. Always look forward to the next appt with Laura in a feminine beautifully appointed salon. Love this place ! Its so convenient too with plenty of parking and right on main road but still tucked out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Kapaa town
Highly recommended and their Kilohana salon is my second favorite place!

I had the pleasure of getting a pedicure and shellac manicure for my best friends wedding here. The women were wonderful and very accommodating to our 8 person party. I would highly suggest this location for any nail needs.

I have often wonderd why this older hotel has a banner out front saying "#1 Choice with Trip Advisor". It does have a great location - beach front along the bike path and lots of good places to eat in walking distance, etc. Anyway, I went there for a beach massage in their outdoor cabana which was nice, but no place to go use the restroom (or at least that is what the two ladies at the front desk told me). It is real important to use the restroom before and after a massage, so I walked down the bike path looking for a restroom someone would let me use. The Kapaa Community Center seemed like a good place to use a public restroom, but it was all locked up. I was finally forced to use a port a potty with no toliet paper. So much for the Spirit of Aloha. At least the massage therapist was very sweet and gave a wonderful Lome Lome massage, which I highly recommend. Ask for Amy Bonvillain or call her at 808-639-3472 & remember to use the restroom before meeting her there.
